Watching the Hillary Show in Scranton, it seemed impressive. With tight camera angles, it looked like a packed house. For a lunchtime crowd, they were pretty vocal, cheering at all the right pauses. Maybe it was Biden who brought the thunder.
OK, Scranton was a little bit better than Omaha where Hillary, buffered by Buffett could not fill a high school gym even if you spotted her the student body.
No wonder Seddique Mir Mateen was seated behind Hillary. She has trouble filling up the VIP section.
BTW, Hillary has cancelled appearances post-convention due to low attendance forecasting.
I want SCOTUS to send ACA/Obamacare to the scrap heap but I am not as sanguine as most of the bill's opponents. When the justices chose to announce the ruling on Thursday, the last day of the session, I took it as an omen. Why would they delay announcing a popular decision? Friday afternoon is a great time to announce anything one does not care to announce. And if the last day in your week (and the last day before Summer vacation) is Thursday...
I will get a few hours of sleep before I tune in. But tune in, I shall. In the words of Joe Biden, this is a big deal.
and his wife cancels an interview with the station as a result.
"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.
McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was "a result of her husband's experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West."
Maybe their is hope for media integrity at the local level.
"You lost. Just get over it." We would love to get over it. But four months after the election the media are still not interested in voter fraud, Obama's suspicious fund raising and his secretive past. Currently, they are not interested in the details of Obama's so called stimulus plan and the lack of transparency that was so boldly promised. The media do not care that Obama and Geitner stick their thumbs in every soup in the kitchen. Why concern ourselves with distractions? Meanwhile, Biden continues to misfire his mouth in a style that will ultimately vindicate Dan Quayle. And yet, and yet, and yet, the media continue to salt the wounds of Bristol Palin. Anything, anything at all, that could make her mother look bad. Anything. Even Dan Rather, the very poster child for media bias and plausible deniability, admits to a media double standard.
IF RATHER ADMITS TO A DOUBLE STANDARD, _________IT HAS TO BE EXTREME___________
From the Sunday AFTER the election. When this once-great newspaper goes belly up, I for one will shed no tears. It might be fun to remember The Post in her prime and banish from the mind's eye the feces smearing/bed wetting/house fire setting Alzheimers case she has devolved into in her old age. Is Dr. Kevorkian in the house?
Excerpts: "But Obama deserved tougher scrutiny than he got, especially of his undergraduate years, his start in Chicago and his relationship with Antoin "Tony" Rezko, who was convicted this year of influence-peddling in Chicago. The Post did nothing on Obama's acknowledged drug use as a teenager." [The ombudsman could have also mentioned Ayers and Dohrn and ACORN, mysterious campaign contributions and the Fannie Mae debacle.]
More from the Post: "One gaping hole in coverage involved Joe Biden, Obama's running mate. When Gov. Sarah Palin was nominated for vice president, reporters were booking the next flight to Alaska. Some readers thought The Post went over Palin with a fine-tooth comb and neglected Biden. They are right; it was a serious omission."
