Obama is as opaque as any politician America has ever produced. The international man of mystery remains unvetted with one week left in his second term. His motives are anything but obvious.
Still, patterns emerge. There is predictability in unpredictability. Obama seems to have a soft spot for ISIS. Putin wants to destroy ISIS. This places them at odds with one another.
In March of 2012, Obama was famously caught on a hot mic telling Dmitry Medevev to pass on to Putin that Obama would have more flexibility after his re-election. Relations between Barry and Vlad fell apart quickly. What came between them? Could have been ISIS.
This blogger wants to spend more time on this subject and we hope, avoid World War III in the process. Unfortunately this blogger will be offline for a few days. Meanwhile, Obama is moving troops to Russia's doorstep. Why now, Obama?
May God protect us from the warmongers.
WARSAW, Poland (AP) — American soldiers rolled into Poland on Thursday, fulfilling a dream some Poles have had since the fall of communism in 1989 to have U.S. troops on their soil as a deterrent against Russia.
It is part of a larger commitment by President Barack Obama to protect a region that grew deeply nervous when Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and then began backing separatist rebels in Ukraine's east.

Rosie O'Donnell Calls For Martial Law To Stop Trump
Rosie O’Donnell calling for Martial Law to stop Trump inauguration |

I FULLY SUPPORT IMPOSING MARTIAL LAW - DELAYING THE INAUGURATION - UNTIL TRUMP IS "CLEARED" OF ALL CHARGES https://twitter.com/MasterMarquette/status/819386479587643392 …
Thanks to Fire Andrea Mitchell
This Press Conference Will Live In Infamy
To say Trump is entertaining is to vastly understate things. He is laugh out loud funny.
I have played this segment about a half dozen times and I am sure I will return to it whenever I feel down. For years we have yearned for someone who will stand up to the bullies in the press. At last, a hero has emerged.
Trump might be the only public figure in American History to be heckled (repeatedly) by the news media. I am not even a tiny bit nostalgic for the days when bold news figures rose from their seats and inquired as to what the president found most enchanting about his journey of personal discovery. This is quality entertainment.
BTW, I chose this vid from an array of choices because RT posted it. They have been accused of delivering fake news but they cannot hold a candle to CNN in that category.
Apologies to RT. It might not matter now that they have shortened their name to RT but I always referred to them as "Russian Times." Their real name was "Russia Today." Now they are just RT. I hope I can keep that name straight.
"MR. PRESIDENT ELECT, THAT IS NOT APPROPRIATE."

Sharp But Deserved Barbs From The Z Man
That’s something the liberal media will skip over as they write their re-imagined histories of the Obama years. The other thing they will skip is the very superficial appeal of Obama. He was always just a black guy. Liberal whites and blacks supported him because he was a black guy, not because of anything he said or proposed to do as President. It’s why no one ever quotes an Obama speech. He was always the smiling black guy on the brochure. His efforts to promote Democratic candidates failed because that narrow charm is never transferable.
"The smiling black guy on the brochure." Oh Z Man, I wish I had penned that line.
In the long run, putting an exotic weirdo in the White House will not seem very significant.
When we suffer through the Macy's Parade of hagiographies--a parade that will outlive most of us--a clearer image of a superficial persona will emerge: the exotic weirdo.
The rest of the Obama record ranges from the narcissistic to the pointlessly petulant.
Actually, Z Man, I have reoeatedly said as much.
Even so, Obama will not go down as the worst president in the post-WW2 era as his legacy is mostly nothing.
I emphatically disagree. The doubling of the national debt sets the stage for economic and social collapse.
Also, the we can thank BO for his seeds of discord that have divided families and terminated friendships.
Once the people who lived through are gone, no one will have any reason to talk about the first black president, other than on whatever day his cult venerates him. That’s the funny thing about being the first to do anything. Most of the time, being the first is the only thing you did worth mentioning.
What if Jackie Robinson hit a buck forty? He would still be the first. The similarities between Robinson and Obama diverge at some point.
The reason Obama was a do-nothing President is he was always just a symbol, rather than a man with his own ideas and agenda. The Cult selected him because he ticked all the boxes, with regards to their fantasy of the perfect black guy. He was black, but you know, not really black. Most important, he confirmed all of their opinions about themselves and their ideology. The Cult of Modern Liberalism never cared much about Obama the man, they only cared for as a symbol on their coat of arms.

Obama's Parting Bullshit
CR’s John Gray has blown a hole in Obama’s jobs record. Back in 2015 he laid out the case, which hasn’t changed much.
Obama Touts This. Currently at 5 percent, the unemployment rate is at the lowest level since Obama became president. In addition, the president has “created” about 8.1 million net new jobs since 2009 – a little less than the 8.7 million that were lost during financial crisis in 2008 and 2009.
But Not This. Those rosy unemployment numbers fail to factor in millions of people only marginally attached to the workforce, or those who would like to work, but have quit looking for employment out of frustration at the lack of opportunities. When those workers are factored in, the real unemployment rate, otherwise known as the underemployment rate is now 9.9 percent – nearly twice the rate of the “official” metric.
Trump Must Air Obama's Dirty Laundry (As Distasteful As That Might Be)
At the end of Obama’s presidency, the United States is bombing seven foreign nations – but most of the actions have been cloaked in secrecy, often supplemented by deceit. Opening the files at the Pentagon, CIA, and State Department on U.S. intervention in the Syrian Civil War might explain why the U.S. plunged deeper into that morass. Pentagon-backed Syrian rebels have openly battled CIA-backed rebels. The U.S. has armed and bankrolled Al Qaeda-linked groups in Syria despite federal law prohibiting providing material support to terrorist groups. The U.S. dropped 12,192 bombs on Syria last year – at a time when much of the Washington establishment and media was vilifying Obama for not intervening. We need the bureaucratic smoking guns on this policy.

Down Nausea Lane: Reviewing The Rise Of Obama's Sycophantic Press And The Death Of Objectivity
When Obama ran for President four years later, news reporters led the cheers. “It’s almost hard to remain objectivebecause it’s infectious, the energy, I think,” then-NBC reporter Lee Cowan confessed in an MSNBC.com video posted January 7, 2008. On CNN a few days later, Politico editor John Harris admitted: “A couple years ago, you would send a reporter out with Obama, and it was like they needed to go through detox when they came back — ‘Oh, he’s so impressive, he’s so charismatic,’ and we’re kind of like, ‘Down, boy.’”
As a candidate, the Associated Press celebrated Obama as “something special,” while as President-elect, the Washington Post drooled over his “chiseled pectorals,” on display during a vacation in Hawaii. As President, reporters touted his “prodigious talents,” his “amazing legislative agenda,” and his “huge achievements.” And as an individual, journalists fawned over Obama, calling him “one of our brightest presidents,” a “huge visionary,” “the perfect American,” “our national poet,” and “the most noble man who has ever lived in the White House.”

Liberal Icon Nat Hentoff Passes Away At Age 91.
People who know me, know that I bristle when the term "liberal" is used to describe Leftist thuggery.
Liberalism is a lofty idea and it invites the George Bernard Shaw inside all of us to muse that someone should try it sometime. The planet can only support a few dozen true liberals and Nat Hentoff was one of them.
Years ago, before Rush Limbaugh had his own TV show, he guest hosted on a channel that would eventually morph into CNBC. Limbaugh interviewed Oliver North and both men had already established themselves as pariahs. Hentoff called the show to offer support to two men he frequently disagreed with. I doubt if Keith Olbermann would do anything half so gracious.
From NYT obituary:

From NYT obituary:
While his sympathies were usually libertarian, he often infuriated leftist friends with his opposition to abortion, his attacks on political correctness and his criticisms of gay groups, feminists, blacks and others he accused of trying to censor opponents. He relished the role of provocateur, indirectly defending racial slurs, apartheid and pornography.
A good man has been laid to rest.
