Those wild and crazy Democrats

Say what you may but the Democrats have not lost their sense of humor. While we on the right seethe and rant over their failures, the party of the working man has the unique ability to find humor in their failed policies.
Here a taxpayer set them up with his inquiry about the $2,500 he was promised he would save under Obamacare.

Of course we all remember the knee slapping humor when the jobs promised under the stimulus bill failed to materialize.

That Obama is quite a card but have you heard any good paraplegic jokes lately?

Lack Of Global Warming Claims Another Victim

No one got hurt but...my housemate's carport collapsed under the weight of ice and snow. Her CRV was parked underneath at the time. This has been a costly winter for a lot of us.

If only we had some real global warming!

MSNBC re-fights the Civil War following VW-UAW vote

Speaking of grasping at straws, a predominately white workforce rejects a German owned company's effort to put them under the thumb of the UAW and it all because of racism. Evidently MSNBC feels its viewers, who for two week have been entertained almost exclusively by Olympic hockey and sundry reiterations of how Chris Christie blocked traffic, needed a change of pace. Contributing writer Timothy Noah set the stage for the video when he wrote,
"The opposition, I gather, portrayed this as a kind of Northern invasion, a re-fighting of the Civil War. Apparently there are not a lot of black employees in this particular plant, and so that kind of - waving the Confederate flag - was an effective strategy," said Noah.
I like the way the guest laments the South's history of right to work laws while omitting the fact that Michigan, the home of the UAW, together with Indiana became a right to work state.

Sandusky Si, Sombreros No

The Penn State Nu Gamma chapter of Chi Omega notified the Panhellenic Executive Board that it is closing its chapter at Penn State. God forbid Penn State should have a sorority that looks like America This is the same institution that tolerated Jerry Sandusky's behavior for decades..

Revisiting the Duke lacrosse rape hoax

In 2006 the Duke rape hoax produced a massive outpouring of academic sanctioned prejudice, prosecutorial misconduct, and disgusting media bias based on both the gender and the race of the accused. While the prosecutor deservedly lost his license to practice law he was the only to pay a price. Nancy Grace, the vigilante of cable news kept her job, the 88 faculty members who signed a guilt-presuming public statement two weeks into the lacrosse case refused to apologize when the case fell apart preferring to issue a "clarification statement" remain tenured vigilantes. This was a modern day Scottsboro Boys event with the race but not the genders reversed. This is one of the most compelling videos in YouTube's 200 million video library.

Cops Versus Canines: Guess Who Wins Another Round

When conservatives talk about the coarsening of our culture they usually refer to the use of expletives or something trivial. Meanwhile, there is a pervasive darkness that has eclipsed our daily lives in small towns and big cities. In another era, police were sometimes a bit happy to use their nightstick or flashlight. Then came the age of pepper spray and the reign of the tazer. It is hard to be nostalgic about some things but life was better when lethal force for dogs--and people--was not the first resort for peace officers.

In a sense, the darkness wins because we grow numb to contextual violence. Nothing wrong with a little shooting so long as the right people are doing the shooting.

Lest we think the following video is an isolated incident: http://dogmurders.wordpress.com/

Radley Balko, perhaps the last journalist in America (and  the host of the website listed above) provides this ugly assessment:

In recent years, police officers have shot and killed chihuahuas, miniature dachshunds, Wheaton terriers, and Jack Russell terriers.Last month, a California police officer shot and killed a boxer puppy and pregnant chihuahua, claiming the boxer had threatened him. The chihuahua, he said, got caught in the crossfire. When a San Bernardino, Calif., woman called police to report a burglary in progress behind her house last month, they responded, jumped her fence to confront the burglars, then shot her dalmatian mix, Julio. He survived. Police officers have also recently shot dogs that were chained, tied, or leashed -- obviously posing no real threat to officers who killed them.

WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR CULTURE?
