A Vote Against Trump Is A Vote For...

1. Thuggery?

2. Flag burning?

3. Terrorism?

4. Anti-Americanism?

5. Socialism?

6. Soros?

7. Hillary?

OK, I plead guilty to redundancy.

Are there ANY decent Democrats left? Any amongst the conspicuously compassionate who will denounce Sanders' thugs? No one?

"America Was Never Great!" Then please return to your great country. Problem solved.

They're just here to burn the flags Americans can't be bothered to burn.
They're just here to assault and batter the citizens Americans can't be bothered to assault and batter.

Let us extend a measure of gratitude to the honest Leftists who have revealed their true values, their true selves, their true agenda. Thank you for providing a measure of contrast that we will all take to the voting booth.

Surprise! Surprise! Trump Gaining On Hillary

If the Democrat-OPEC coalition does not assassinate Donald Trump--and I don't put anything past those thugs--he will become the 45th president of the United States.

Breitbart lists several polls showing Trump picking up ground against Hillary, even in deep blue states.

The national contest between Trump and Hillary Clinton is a toss-up, but Trump is surprisingly competitive in a host of states that Democrats have long taken for granted.
Oregon
A new poll of deep-blue Oregon finds Trump leading Hillary Clinton by 2 points, 44-42. A poll earlier in May found Clinton with an 11 point lead over Trump, but that same poll...

SiriusXM Suspends Glenn Beck For Possibly Suggesting A Trump Assassination

Ten years ago I despised Glenn Beck. He seemed like just one more NeoCon hack. Then he went to Fox and he went in a completely different direction. When other pundits were playing kissy face with Barack Obama (Bill O'Reilly for instance) Glenn Beck was digging into his background? Who was this guy? Who promoted him? What were his values? Beck asked questions his journalistic colleagues could not be bothered to ask.

I can appreciate that Donald might not be Beck's first choice but his display of Trump Derangement Syndrome has left me puzzled. I don't get it. My first choice (and second and third and fourth as well) lost and I now support Trump, if only half-heartedly. I thought Beck would get over it and move on. Nope.

Beck's Trump obsession has been hard to endure. There is a real "how dare he" outrage with Beck and his sidekicks' voices as well. I dislike Trump's attacks on Ted and Heidi Cruz that were childish, pointless and unfounded, especially considering that they were launched after Trump pretty much had the nomination in the bag. He did not have to add insults and more insults to injury.

Trump won the nomination and his reasons for winning are simple. We have mentioned them before but they are worth repeating. One, Trump served up red meat. Two, Trump made a simple promise, Make America Great Again, and a set of smaller promises to attain that goal (Build the wall, make Mexico pay for it...) This is politics 101 and it succeeded because the other GOP candidates played the game at a kindergarten level. If Cruz or Walker cannot tell the voter what they will do for him and how they will do it, bye-bye candidate.

Should I ever again find the time to read for fun, Brad Thor might be at the top of that list. Or he would have been before he went as stupid as Beck. From Breitbart:

The suspension is in response to the interview Beck did with fiction author Brad Thor last Wednesday, in which Thor likened the GOP’s presumptive nominee Donald Trump to a South American-style dictator who would cause an “extinction-level event” for the country if elected. Thor then declared that in such a case, Congress would not be able to remove Trump from office by “legal means” through impeachment, so Thor asked “what patriot will step up and do that” if Trump oversteps his Constitutional restraints. Beck agreed with Thor’s assessment.

Huffington Post Reports Hillary Indictment! Then Scrubs Post

From Breitbart:

The liberal publication Huffington Post removed an article on its website Sunday claiming that the FBI plans to pursue an indictment against Hillary Clinton on federal racketeering charges.

HuffPo freelance contributor Frank Huguenard, a scientist and public speaker, posted an article on the site’s blog entitled “Hillary Clinton to be Indicted on Federal Racketeering Charges”. Huguenard wrote:

The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) is a United States Federal Law passed in 1970 that was designed to provide a tool for law enforcement agencies to fight organized crime.  RICO allows prosecution and punishment for alleged racketeering activity that has been executed as part of an ongoing criminal enterprise.

Heartbreaker: P. J. O'Rourke Endorses Hillary

I don't use the term hero, lightly but P. J. O'Rourke is on my short list of heroes. I loved that guy.

When the question comes up, "who is the funniest?"  the entertainment press usually comes back with someone like "Robin Williams." This is not an insult to the deceased giant but comedians in general are not funny to me. It's a longer tangent than I care to pursue right now but without trying we can all rattle off a list of unfunny comedians.

The funniest people of my lifetime, and this is subject to revision but off the cuff:

1. Gary Larson.

2. P. J. O'Rourke.

3. Howard Stern.

4. Larry David.

5. Howie Carr.

Returning to P. J., he has endorsed Hillary. Admittedly, he has fallen off my radar in recent years. I had heard that he was on NPR and I learned this morning that he was working for "Weekly Standard." No wonder we parted company. Sad to say but P. J. looks like an over the hill starlet who will sleep with anyone who says they can make him a star.

This might be a lesson about laying down with pigs

A Great Day

I should have been a sportscaster. Spectator sports are like junk food (or comfort food if you prefer). Yes they are fun but the more you consume, the emptier you feel.

I have learned to limit my viewing and reading about such alluring matters. I still watch things like The Olympics, The Kentucky Derby and the Indianapolis 500.

Today the Naptown Half-Thou once more delivered the day. Open wheel racing has been up and down with more downs than ups. It is currently riding a might wave. One might think that with higher speeds, races would not be close. At an average speed differential of say, one mile an hour--and at 200+ mph those differentials would appear--and the race took place over three hours, the field would be strung out all over the place and few cars would be on the lead lap. It hasn't worked out that way.

Well into the race almost the entire field was separated by about 20 seconds. Engineering continues to engineer. I can remember when half the field would drop out due to mechanical failure. Not counting pit errors or collisions I think her were only one or two mechanical failures in Indianapolis today.

As with football, the race has become more about the coach than the player. More about the Andretti in the booth than the Andretti behind the wheel. Drivers are still important but races are won and lost in the booth..and the pits.

Alexander Rossi became the first rookie to win the Indianapolis 500 in 15 years. It was the brilliant Bryan Herta who orchestrated the victory. He's one of those gnomes with headsets who realized that the only chance Rossi had against the faster cars was to take one fewer pit stop.

Rossi got 90 miles on his last tank of gas and his car sputtered to the finish line. It stalled on the victory lap and was towed to the Winner's Circle. How symbolic!

With 54 lead changes and a surprise ending, this, the 100th Indy 500 was a masterpiece.

But I wasn't finished. I was feeling a little under the weather so I did not feel the need to conclude my viewing early. I switched back and forth between the Red Sox beating Toronto 5-3 in 11 innings and Jordan Spieth's highlight reel at the Dean and Deluca Invitational.

 It was a great day.

More Trump Derangement Syndrome

One of the interesting things about this video is that it illustrates the wide cross section of the population supporting Trump. Take away the pro-Trump supporters' flags and it looks like we stumbled into a Sanders' rally. It's a good thing the anti-Trumpsters wear Bernie shirts and carry "Racist Killer Cops" signs and chant "La Rasa" or things could get confusing.

Anti-Trump Rioters In Costa Mesa

Man, finding dangerous, threatening, disturbing Sanders brownshirts is easier than I thought. Too commonplace, so it seems.

Brownshirts In San Diego Redux

This has already been posted as part of a playlist and as good as this playlist is, we should back up and look at this video. Listen carefully and the guy with the F Trump shirt reveals that he is a public school history teacher. Say no more.
