Nate Silver Gave Ossoff A 70 % Chance Of Winning

This is an item that made my ears perk up. Bret Baier mentioned that Oracle Extraordinaire, Nate Silver, had given Jon Ossoff a 70 % chance of winning the Georgia 6 special election. Huh?

Seeing a pompous, overblown, ridiculous, either woefully stupid or chronically dishonest but always exalted uber-pundit crowned with a golden dunce cap is for me...my own personal catnip. Sleep would have to wait. I would visit visit 538 in hopes of echoing The King Of All Ass Clowns in his own words. Nothing wrong with a little schadenfreude so lang as the right people get schadened.

Oh, but this weary blogger was unable to find what he was seeking. Did the ever-clever Nate Silver scrub his site of his discovered folly? Had the blogger been lead through yet another cheeseless maze? He would retire unrewarded, unable to cast even more aspersions at The Puerile Prince of Prognostication.

Ah, but Pacific Pundit saved the week. He isolated the tweet where Nate The Grate asserted the 70% certitude. Shades of November 2016. This blogger considers himself dedicated but tracking the tweets of every buffoon on Planet Earth is above and beyond the call of duty. Please excuse me if some stupidity escapes my focus.

Hat tip to Pacific Pundit.

OK, So I Can't Stop Talking About Georgia 6, After All

Yeah. Yeah. Meaningless. Over-hyped. Anti-climactic.

Still, it amazes me just how weak the Dems have become. You may have heard that their farm club has been crushed several times over but...Jon Ossoff?

Nothing wrong with being a documentarian. Nothing at all. But Ossoff is 30 years old and he does not live in the district he wanted to represent and he lacks...gravitas. He does not look like a Congressman nor does he look like someone who really wanted the job. This was going to be the turning point for the donkeys and they trusted the job to a lightweight.

Remember when the Dems were the more politically savvy of the two major parties? That seems like a long time ago.

Time To Fire Mueller and Rosenstein, Mr. President

Dear, Mr. President:

The special elections are over, Mr. President. Time to make the pigs squeal once more.

You already fired one dirty cop, Mr. President. That Trump tagline, "You're fired", is music to our ears. Can we hear those sweet chords again, Mr. President?

As many of us see it, Mr. President, there is no downside to firing these coup de slobs. Oh, they think they are so clever, don't they? Sending them back to Pensionland would only be protested by the parties who will never give you a fair shake anyway. CNN, NYT, WAPO, etc.,  cannot get more partisan or more shrill or more hateful. They were against you from the beginning and they will be against you no matter what. If you want to show compassion for the outraged members of the fourth estate, please send them personalized crying towels with "DJT" embedded in the fabric.

Sorry, Mr. President, I forgot to do that focus group that would indicate how coal miners and steel workers might react to witnessing a roomful of fat cat lawyers being sent home for the summer. Wildcat strikes? Work stoppages? Snipers on the highways? Maybe we should just weather the backlash, Mr. President. If we can endure the giant collective yawn and the inappropriate laughter, your administration could be very promising for all of us.

Deplorably yours,

Yawn. Congratulations Karen Handel.

CNN has declared Karen Handel the victor in Georgia's 6th Congressional District.

Also, in South Carolina, Ralph Norman won the special election for the GOP in a race that was much closer than it should have been.

Back to Georgia and some eye-popping stats. Ossoff raised $23.6 million to Handel's $4.5 million.

Super-PAC's narrowed the margin from about 5:1 to about 3:2 total. Ossoff $7.6 million, Handel $18.2 million.

Had a sniper not attempted multiple assassinations shortly before the elections, Republicans might have lost both races.

Is It Too Late To Make A Prediction On The Georgia Special Election?

As this is being written, NYT is giving a 1.1 % advantage to Handel. NYT is notoriously false but their election night analysis was pretty accurate last November.

I have not had much to say about this election because I think it is less a bellwether than the newshounds want it to be. If Ossoff wins, it proves that you can buy a Congressional seat if you have really deep pockets. Ossoff has outspent Handel by about a 5 to 1 margin but third party money partly closes the gap.

If Handel wins, it proves nothing much. Red stays red. Status quo. Should have won by more even with Pelosi and Soros dollars.

Most of the country is trending red except for Georgia and Arizona. These are two states the RNC needs to guard closely.

My prediction: The election results will not match the hype, no matter who wins.
