I guess it doesn't matter. The president will be removed from office any day now and The Legion Of Democrat Candidates will take office as our first collective president. Hail to the hive!
What do you mean the impeachment hit a snag? So, like next week? I thought Adam Schiff found another witness.
This is being written more than 12 hours after the caucus closed and a winner has yet to emerge. Iowa has played a crucial role in determining the Democrat contender. Since 1996 every Democrat presidential candidate has won Iowa. 1992 was an asterisk year where native son, Tom Harkin, took 76 % of the vote and fizzled upon reentry.
Every current Dem candidate could use that Iowa wind behind his/her/their back. Maybe if no winner is declared, no feelings will hurt and they will all go to New Hampshire with smiling faces.
An aside: I am enjoying a prolonged news fast but I had a handicapper's interest in who won Iowa so I visited sites I had not perused in a long time. Is there an antonym for nostalgia?
I digress. PBS was highlighting some figures that they found interesting. There were roughly 40k fewer Dem caucus participants in 2016 vs 2008. That is because the organized crime cartel known as the Chicago Democrats bussed thousands of Scott Fovals to Iowa where many of them attained Iowa citizenship and caucused for the embodiment of hope.
This underhand tactic opened a wound within the party that would fester and fester anew. PBS offered other explanations but they refused to suggest anything even a little bit tawdry on matters related to Obama. Whatever else one might say about PBS, they are consistent.
