To Paraphrase Sigmund Freud, Everywhere I go I find a blogger has been there before me.

“Everywhere I go I find a poet has been there before me.” That was Siggy's enduring quote about the avant nature of poets.

Hoosierman, whose poetics grace these hallowed halls, scooped the MSM by a little better than three months on Jonathan Gruber . Of course, the MSM had all hands on deck offering around the clock coverage on the upcoming midterms. Those poor overworked schlubs might have overlooked a video clip here or there. It's not like someone posts these things on Youtube, you know.

How long can MSM news pay their bills? The IRS scandal was volleyed around the blogosphere for at least a year before a newspaper mentioned it and at least two years before Lois Lerner went public at the ABA convention (before going silent in front of Congress.) The news has sometimes been viewed by networks as a loss leader or a public service but it could be very profitable right now. There is a six year logjam of stories to choose from.

In the meantime, a blogger is on the case. Wherever Katie Couric may wander, you can bet a nation of bloggers has been there before her.

Gruberism: The Philosophy That States It Is Noble To Deceive People Because People Are Stupid

Here it is. This is a snapshot of everything I have resisted for a long time.  Call it conceit, arrogance, authoritarianism...This is what unifies "us" against "them." I know of no one on our side who advocates for anti-transparency, conscious deception, falsehood for falsehood sake. Take a pot shot at any controversial figure on our side--Boehner, McConnell, Koch Brothers, Michael Savage--none of them have ever advocated lying to the American people (on the grounds that we are too stupid to appreciate the wonder of Gruber and Gruberism.)

Jonathan Gruber is everything wrong with the Left. They cannot sell their ideas so they misstate their intentions. Evil is not too harsh a term to describe what we are witnessing. Let us reject Gruberism once and for all.

Barney Frank Admits Obama Administration "Just Lied To People"

Not sure what HuffPO is up to. They published a brief article stating that Barney Frank was appalled at the Obama Administration's repeated lies about the Affordable Care Act. The article is followed by a slide show featuring thirteen lies and distortions about Obamacare.

In HuffPo World, such things as the existence of death panels. the job-killing effects of The ACA as well as its exorbitant costs are all GOP fabrications. It is surprising that they would feature an article about Barney Frank wherein he states the obvious: the Obama Administration lied repeatedly about th nightmare that is Obamacare. We can only speculate at their motives for doing so.

Possibly, they knew Frank's comments would break anyway so they could perform a preemptive spin. Get the hayseeds to read the blurb and then do the old Amway social bait and switch and hammer them with a slide show that will curb their stupidity forever. Just speculation.

See for yourself:

"The rollout was so bad, and I was appalled -- I don't understand how the president could have sat there and not been checking on that on a weekly basis," Frank told HuffPost during a July interview. "But frankly, he should never have said as much as he did, that if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it. That wasn't true. And you shouldn't lie to people. And they just lied to people."

Hobby Lobby Wins

This is a big story with a lot of facets. On a visceral level, this is pretty cut and dry. Religious freedom won. Federal micromanagement loses. It was fun to watch the MSNBC crowd shape this as some sort of gendercide plot. War on` women. Reproductive health. Slogan overload.

For the Dems, this will push the ACA back into the limelight. As the MSM left this subject, the administration was sipping champagne in the Rose Garden. They had met their enrollment numbers. No need to examine the alleged statistics. ACA is a popular success. Nothing to see here folks. Roll the credits.

I am no soothsayer but I am going to go out on a limb and say that Obamacare will be the most important issue of the 2014 mid-term elections. Hobby Lobby has brought the train wreck back center stage (you can't mix metaphor better than that with a Waring blender) where it belongs.

Thank you, Hobby Lobby!

In Case You Missed This Scandal: Convicted Terrorist Employed As Obamacare Navigator

This is big. This is a scandal. This is a big scandal. You can't blink with Obama in office. Unless you are a full time newshound, you simply cannot keep up with their unending ineptitude and duplicity. I concluded long ago that the Obama Gang wants to overwhelm us with simultaneous acts of malfeasance in hopes that we will go numb with the constancy of deception and corruption. In another place and another time, this would be Page One for days on end. No more. YOU SAY TERRORIST, I SAY NAVIGATOR

I'm Not Making This Up! CBS Poll: 84% of DEMOCRATS Want To Change Or Repeal!

I can hear Dan Preiffer explain this one away. This is CBS after all, flagship of the vast right wing conspiracy. Even if we can believe the numbers, this just a blip. An outlier. An aberration. And it's not like Democratic Party is the president's base. Just wait till it's fully implemented and the people can see what's in it....

A note of encouragement for the administration: A full 7% of the country want the ACA "kept in place." That number nearly doubles when Democrats are polled. A whopping 12% Take those numbers back to your district! Happy days are here again!

Note: CBS might have pulled the poll. We will link to Breitbart reporting this. Not big on second hand news but those pesky server errors sometimes plague major media websites.

Blast From The Past: Cool Meets Smart

Smart used to trump cool. That changed in the early part of the 21st Century, at least in America.

This video encapsulates the age old high school student council meeting wherein the valedictorian to be meekly points out to the cool kids, the disadvantages of their proposal to install outlets for electric hair dryers in the school showers. Don't you have a chemistry test to study for?

In high school the cool kids' plans would be thwarted by the principal. And no, you may not have extension cords. In hip hop America, we get Obamacare.

"ARE YOU EXPRESSING INDIGNATION OR CONFUSION, MR. PRESIDENT?"

Who Wins?

America and for that matter, any place that has practiced capitalism, has traditionally been a place for winners and losers. In any given year, most people prosper but 20 to 30 per cent either lose ground or stay about the same. Some years are better than others.

What is discouraging about the Obama era is that almost no one prospers. There are a few special interest groups that do OK. The politically-connected faction within Wall Street is doing fine. SEIU is prospering. The hard core welfare class is doing better than ever. Heroin use is booming (a statistic I was given yesterday was a 900% rise in the last decade. I can't verify that but it seems accurate to me.) Federal employees are living the good life. The DC Metro area continues to flourish. And of course, government contractors (like CGI for instance) have found ways to cope in difficult times.

So yes, there are a few niches that are doing fine. However, these are niches. When we look at the larger demographic groups--senior citizens, Millenials, African-Americans, Californians, public pension recipients, etc.,--we see malaise. I cannot think of a major demographic that has prospered in the Obama era. And yet, the Obots are there to cheer on their deity when he defeats a Ted Cruz. Yea! You won! What did YOU win?

One definition of utilitarianism is the greatest good for the greatest number. I cannot now remember if it was Buckminster Fuller or Robert Anton Wilson who coined the term futilitarianism to describe a state wherein the greatest harm is delivered to the greatest number. The Obama Administration, and most specifically Obamacare, is an ongoing tribute to futilitarianism. Besides CGI, the IRS and the thugs who wear the navigator crown, who benefits? Who wins?

Answer: Who cares? Drink the Kool-Aid!

Obamacare Marketplace: Personal Data Can Be Used For ‘Law Enforcement and Audit Activities’

I am shocked. Shocked I tell you. There is gambling in the casino! The following is taken from Maryland's Health Connection. Weeklystandard added the emphasis.

Should you decide to apply for health coverage through Maryland Health Connection, the information you supply in your application will be used to determine whether you are eligible for health and dental coverage offered through Maryland Health Connection and for insurance affordability programs. It also may be used to assist you in making a payment for the insurance plan you select, and for related automated reminders or other activities permitted by law.  We will preserve the privacy of personal records and protect confidential or privileged information in full accordance with federal and State law. We will not sell your information to others.  Any information that you provide to us in your application will be used only to carry out the functions of Maryland Health Connection. The only exception to this policy is that we may share information provided in your application with the appropriate authorities for law enforcement and audit activities

Falsity is The New Normal

As my friend John said, this isn't the first politician to lie, but Obama is the first politician to lie with impunity. Or words to that effect. In my lifetime Obama is the first president who has lied with the assistance of the news media.

I have to admit, Obama is wearing me down. The constancy of falsehood, the volume of falsehood and the scale and significance of his falsehood is draining. The eyebrows will only lift so many times.

Then we expose  the King of Duplicity's latest exercise in mendacity and it is met with blank stares from Obots (can't you even muster a shrug you cow-eyed zombie?) Falsity is the new normal. Just say bahhh.

The day after the State of the Union blogs and talk radio devoted themselves to refuting the mountain of lies.It takes so much more time and effort to refute a lie than to tell a lie. In a perverted way Obama does short out the resistance by his volume of lies. It's one thing when your neighbor's pony leaves a pile on your lawn. But when the neighbor leaves a dump truck of manure on your lawn you have a problem that deserves your attention.

But one lie stands out. President Pinocchio actually stated,  “Already, the Affordable Care Act is helping to slow the growth of health care costs.”

7.5 Hours to Supreme Court Ruling

I want SCOTUS to send ACA/Obamacare to the scrap heap but I am not as sanguine as most of the bill's opponents. When the justices chose to announce the ruling on Thursday, the last day of the session, I took it as an omen. Why would they delay announcing a popular decision? Friday afternoon is a great time to announce anything one does not care to announce. And if the last day in your week (and the last day before Summer vacation) is Thursday...

I will get a few hours of sleep before I tune in. But tune in, I shall. In the words of Joe Biden, this is a big deal.
