Barney Frank Admits Obama Administration "Just Lied To People"

Not sure what HuffPO is up to. They published a brief article stating that Barney Frank was appalled at the Obama Administration's repeated lies about the Affordable Care Act. The article is followed by a slide show featuring thirteen lies and distortions about Obamacare.

In HuffPo World, such things as the existence of death panels. the job-killing effects of The ACA as well as its exorbitant costs are all GOP fabrications. It is surprising that they would feature an article about Barney Frank wherein he states the obvious: the Obama Administration lied repeatedly about th nightmare that is Obamacare. We can only speculate at their motives for doing so.

Possibly, they knew Frank's comments would break anyway so they could perform a preemptive spin. Get the hayseeds to read the blurb and then do the old Amway social bait and switch and hammer them with a slide show that will curb their stupidity forever. Just speculation.

"The rollout was so bad, and I was appalled -- I don't understand how the president could have sat there and not been checking on that on a weekly basis," Frank told HuffPost during a July interview. "But frankly, he should never have said as much as he did, that if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it. That wasn't true. And you shouldn't lie to people. And they just lied to people."

The Biggest Goliath on Tuesday?

Things could still tip the other way. The Mighty, Mighty Acorns could still work some last second magic and save the House for their benefactors. But it's unlikely. Heading into Tuesday, it looks like a tsunami will indeed sweep across this great land, as scheduled.

I wanted to guard against overconfidence and October surprises, so I did not sponsor a Biggest Goliath contest. But here goes. Who will be the biggest Goliath to fall on Tuesday?

No particular criteria to define the biggest Goliath. Sometimes parlor games are funnest before the Jello hardens. We should probably divide the game into House and Senate. And Harry Reid, by virtue (for lack of a better term) of reining as the Senate Majority Leader, will probably win the Biggest Goliath Award in the Senate. Then again, Boxer or Murray could bite the dust. But Fiorina is no David with a sling. So Harry might have a lock on this one.

In the House, the competition is intense. What if Barney, Dennis and James Oberstar all bit the dust on the same evening? Who is James Oberstar and how has he earned his Big Guy credentials? He has held his seat since 1974 and has been in politics for 48 years. He does not possess the arrogance of Frank or Kucinich, that seems a safe assertion. He is a pro-life Democrat, a man of the people who brings a lot of extrinsic knowledge to his job. A decent guy.

A decent guy but a tax and spend and control guy too. A good-hearted Goliath perhaps, but a Goliath nonetheless. And he is facing a formidable David in the person of Chip Cravaack.

Maybe the Three Giants will emerge unscathed. Then again, one or two or three of them might get a rock upside the head. If all three of them bite the dust, then the Biggest Goliath has to go to Barney. The other two seem like they are on borrowed time in blue collar districts. Make no doubt about it. The Biggest Goliath could be a Battle Royale.

Barney Frank might lose this November. Opponents to perennials are usually picked from the lost cause scrap heap. The party scours the academic world and they persuade Professor Weenie to add the candidate blurb to their not always impressive resume. Not this time.

The GOP challenger to Barney Frank is a stud of a candidate. If this were the NBA, he would be a lottery pick. He is young, handsome, a successful businessman, a Marine, a family man and a man of faith. In essence, he is the anti-Barney.

Yes, Barney can still dust off the Larouchians but can he beat a pit bull in a cage fight? We will find out in November. I have not checked the Intrade site in months but if this proposition is offered, it might reap handsome rewards.
