Go Back To Fox News, Santorum. Or How To Insure An Obama Victory.

OK, the Tea Party is not explicitly libertarian. But libertarianism is by definition, small government. Conversely, small government promotes individual freedom. Small government is quasi-libertarian by default.

So too, fiscal conservatism. Libertarianism greatly limits fiscal recklessness. Conversely, fiscal conservatism promotes freedom if by only limiting the scope of government activism.

The GOP is uneasy with the Tea Party. The idea of big government conservatism and/or bureaucratic conservatism and/or conservative social engineering is alive and well within the ranks of the Republican Party. The strong belief that Christian bureaucrats are better than lesbian bureaucrats dominates is alive and well in the GOP. Deficit spending is harmless if it performed by people of virtue. Put moral people in high places and we can all return to the glory of the Bush years.

Santorum's hostility to "libertarian influences" belies a hostility to fiscal conservatism, the Tea Party and yes, a hostility to the US Constitution and that pesky Bill of Rights. It also reveals the Senator's poor political judgment. Mitt Romney is looking better every day.

HEY! MAYBE FOX NEWS CAN GIVE SANTORUM NAPOLITANO'S SOON TO BE VACANT SEAT!!!

The Year of The Faint?

(See yesterday's post concerning the return of Obama's fainting women.)

)It worked in 2008. Now Obama has gone back to his old playbook in hopes of recapturing the magic. There have been three recent incidents of fainting women during Obama fundraising events.

It might be working. According to Rasmussen, the percentage of likely voters who strongly approve of the president's performance has risen to 28%. A corresponding 38% strongly disapprove but this is an improvement over the 3:2 to 2:1 fluctuations that the president usually endures.

The fainting might be working. Years ago, legendary prankster Alan Abel orchestrated a mass fainting in the audience of "The Phil Donahue Show." Rumor has it that Donahue was livid and initially considered litigation. But the hoax resulted in a spike in Phil's ratings and all was forgiven.

IT WORKED FOR PHIL. IT CAN WORK FOR BARACK

AFTER THE INAUGURATION, THE FAINTING SLOWED DOWN BUT...

FAINTING WAS ALSO A PROBLEM DURING THE HEALTH CARE DEBATE

As the fainting ceased, the president's numbers tumbled. Now, Campaign 2012 is underway. "Timber!"

Lightning Strikes Again! And Again! And Again! The Return of Obama's Fainting Women

By the way, this is Huffington Post now calling this campaign phenomenon to our attention. Read it before it gets scrubbed!

...If Obama seemed calm during the situation, it's because this was the third time this month that someone has passed out at one of his campaign events. Obama interrupted his own event at a Daimler plant in Mt. Holly, N.C. last week when a woman standing toward the front of the audience passed out...

Is Rick Santorum Really A Tea Party Candidate?

And a follow-up question: Is the Tea Party dead?

Of the four remaining candidates, Santorum is the least Tea Party friendly. Big government conservatism is antithetical to fiscal conservatism. Bush era Republicanism is antithetical to fiscal conservatism. The Tea Party was as much about Bush and Santorum as it was about Obama. Unfortunately, the social cons have once more trumped and trounced and corrupted a fiscally conservative opportunity.

If Santorum is the face of the Tea Party, then no tea for me. How bad can Kool-Aid really be?

When Do Republicans Sound Like Obots?

When they discuss Marco Rubio. I used to like Rubio a lot more prior to Hannity et al getting all mushy with him. They get all gooey-eyed for precisely the same reasons that the press developed their "Big Slobbering Love Affair" for Obama in 2008.

He's young.
He's handsome.
He's clean.
He's articulate.
Oh, and he's ethnic too.

Rubio is also inexperienced. At two years in the Senate, he will have fifty per cent the Federal experience that Obama had when he was inaugurated. His executive experience is slightly broader than Obama 2008. He was Speaker of the House in Florida for two years and was a Councilman in West Miami. Yes, Rubio's resume is more impressive than the community organizer's but so is the resume of tens of millions of people.

There are several reasons why Obama is a failure but inexperience is probably the biggest cause for concern (although delusional thinking might be more significant.) If the Republicans nominate Rubio for vice president, his slim resume could be the ticket's Achilles' Heel.

I wish Fox News personalities would have a Chris Matthews moment where they admit the thrill up their legs. Then maybe we can move on. Rubio someday. Not 2012.

Media Monday: Fox News Sucks!

I used to like Fox News.I think I would like Fox Business Channel too, if they were available.

Without Beck and Napolitano, Fox is stuck in the bush leagues. No John Drews. No Larry Sinclairs. No Philip Bergs. O'Reilly is a sell-out and Hannity is an idiot.

What If Queen Elizabeth Had Lost Her Coronation?

Move along folks. No story here. Even Kareem blew a few dunks. The Republicans are crucifying women right down the street. Go there. Go. Go. Go. Nothing to see here.

Does the MSM ignore EVERY significant news story? So it seems. If not for teapartyatperrysburg http://teapartyatperrysburg.blogspot.com/ and World Net Daily, http://www.wnd.com/ I would not be aware that Candidate Obama is struggling to earn his party's nominatiion.

OK, struggle might be a stretch. But when an incumbent who runs unopposed or with only novelty/hobby candidate opposition, cannot collect 90% of the primary vote, there is a problem. http://www.wnd.com/2012/03/dem-primary-a-warning-to-obama/

From WND article:

While the media attempts to portray Democratic voters as solidly supportive of Obama, in Oklahoma the president received just slightly over 50 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary.

In the other three states that held Democratic primaries, the president also faced difficulties. In Massachusetts, Tennessee and Missouri Obama only received 88 percent of the vote. These numbers are interesting in light of the fact in two of the states Obama was unopposed.
