BB. Before Barack...AB. After Barack
This is edited. As I recall, Lee was even more obnoxious. He is prophetic in a strange kind of way. We might refer to BB and AB with a certain historical significance. The DB--During Barack--recalling his eight-year reign of terror will be hard to forget, no matter how hard we try.

Revisiting Spike Lee's Prophecy And Projecting Obama's Place In History
Happy Fourth of July, Everyone!
We are revisiting several subjects with the following vid. This is Spike Lee's landmark declaration that history will be divided into Before Barack and After Barack. In a sadly ironic way, Spike Lee might have had a Jeane Dixon moment. Barack Obama might be one of the most pivotal and important people in the history of the United States.
Institutions that might forever be changed by Barack Obama include:
1.) The Democratic Party. Things look bad for the donkey. 2014 might be 2010 all over again. The Dems could lose the Senate. Nixon damaged his party for over half a century. Americans were so disgusted by Nixon-era corruption and general mismanagement that red states turned blue and men like Harkin and Waxman and Leahy would get a foothold on lifetime employment. In some sense we still live in the Nixon era.
Obama has inflicted multiple wounds on the Democratic Party. Beyond a record that includes record deficits, inflation, poor or negative economic growth, a disastrous foreign policy record, dereliction of duty, immigration chaos, scandal, ineptitude and more scandal, Obama has overseen a civil war within his own party. Don't think for a heartbeat that the Clinton Coalition will soon make peace with the Obama Coalition. This is a fragile peace at best.
2.) The Republican Party. Inadvertently, Obama might be responsible for the metamorphosis of the GOP. The party of Delay and Rove and Romney is becoming the party of Paul and Cruz and Gowdy. That might not have happened had Hillary or McCain won the presidency in 2008. The Republican Party is a-changing and we can thank Barack Obama for providing the impetus for change.
3.) The Tea Party. I have no doubt that if the Tea Party had been hatched during the Clinton Administration, it would have withered on the vine (top that mixed metaphor!) Principle would be no match for the Clinton Charm. Bill would have us believe he invented the Tea Party himself. The anti-charm of Obama is another matter. He has been a fundraiser's dream for dozens of groups and should the IRS harassment be curtailed, he could be benefit hundreds of other non-profit groups.
4.) Socialized Medicine. Blame it on overreach. Blame it on method. Blame it on gross incompetence. Had they taken an incremental, patient approach we might have had a permanent national health care system like they have in most European countries. As it is, the ACA's repeal is only a matter of time. When it is gone, it will be at least a decade--if not much longer--before something like Obamacare is ever again proposed.
5.) Illegal immigrants. This script is not written yet. Either tens of millions of illegals flood our public schools and hospitals and welfare system or America says "enough is enough." Either way, the outcome will be associated with Barack Obama.
6.) The mainstream media. They were losing ground before Obama. They wagered their last scrap of credibility to advance the agenda of their messiah. Hard as it is to imagine, all of the network news shows have lost viewers since 2007. MSNBC and CNN do not fare much better. NYT, WAPO, etc.? Don't ask.
We could add to this short list. The fate of the EPA, the global warming fiasco, solar power, large scale wind farms are but a few things that might find their high water mark during the Obama Administration. And Oprah and Deepak and Dave Matthews and Spike Lee for that matter, have never gotten their mojo back.
Yes, we might yet classify history as Before Obama and After Obama.

On Changing The Meaning Of Words
I overheard a co-worker talking and I have to skip on the context but it was not the time or place to confront her (and I will not revisit the conversation later.) This employee is easily distracted and if you talk to her too much, she will not get her work done and I am not the sort of guy who has to win every argument.
Anyway, she said "To me, freedom does not mean doing whatever I want..." She then proceeded with some PC psychobabble about given choices and it's up to all of us to make the right choice because with freedom comes responsibility.
Some words require judgment. If someone is called obstinate or belligerent or ridiculous, the labeler usually has to explain how he arrived at said conclusion. But other words are concrete in their meanings. Cold is the absence of heat. Darkness is the absence of light. Freedom is the absence of constraint. There doesn't seem to be much wiggle room with these words.
I know how the co-worker thinks. She likes the word 'freedom' but not the definition because that can lead to things like oh I don't know, gun ownership maybe. But what red blooded American dislikes freedom? We all love freedom, right? But we don't necessarily like the definition. So we develop our own meanings.
In 2008 I remember a gentlemanly local radio host, Dan Rea, who is a lawyer and who will generally call BS, BS, redefined racism. As in, it would be racist to vote against Obama because of his race but it would not be racist to vote for Obama because of his race. For better or worse, racism has a specific meaning and it would be racist to vote for Obama either because of his race or to vote against Obama because of his race. The English language does have a few rules of the road.
The Left loves the term 'racist.' They feel strongly that they own the word. Spike Lee infamously stated that black people could not be racist. Affirmative action implicitly says the same thing. 'Racist' and 'racism' are property of the Left and they will use it as a weapon as best they see fit.
That conversation would echo around in my head for a long, long time if I did not put in down on blogpaper. Thanks for bearing with me.

Sellebrity Saturday: Spike Lee on MSNBC. Before Barack and After Barack.
This is a time capsule that contains so many facets worth preserving and reviewing from time to time. It concludes with Spike Lee's holding up a "Down Goes McCain" sweatshirt. So much for Obama's theme of Unity.
There is more. So much more. Anything with Mike Barnicle deserves a stop-the-vid-and-explain moment. Mike Barnicle is an icon of privelege. At "The Boston Globe" he was a serial recycler, a serial fabricator and a serial plagiarist. The trifecta of modern journalism. But he has always landed on his feet because he has always sucked up to the right people. Everything I need to know about the ruling class I learned from Mike Barnicle. It is so appropriate that he was cast in a supporting role in this masterpiece.
But the epicenter of this magnum opus is at 4:18 when Spike Lee divides history into "Before Barack and After Barack." The obvious and sadly sincere comparison is with Christ. Some of us could see the folly of this parallel but even we, the skeptics, did not see immediately see ironic truth of Mr. Lee's statements.
Obama, for all of his obvious shortcomings, might well be a pivotal character in US and world history. Obama might represent the excess of corruption and greed and powerlust and privelege that pivots America in a new direction. Maybe he represents the end of an era where elitism and cronyism and insiderism rule the day. Maybe he represents the end of media-sanctioned secretivity. Maybe he represents the end of desructive economics. Of sanctioned anti-Americanism. Maybe Obama embodies the overkill that prompts a long-term "enough is enough" response.
Maybe.

Sellebrity Saturday: Does EVERY Pathetic Poser In The Whole World Suck Up To Obama?
OK, I am not going to do the Diogenes thing and walk around in the daylight looking for the one celebrity who holds a shred of doubt about the transcendant nature of Barack Hussein Obama. We already found an unemployed John Voight, an unemployed Bo Derek and uh, uh...and the list goes on and on.
What I am proposing is that we update the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game. Let's face it, the movie version ran its course. Let's do the Praise Obama on YouTube version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.
We'll start with an easy one. Say you are challenged to link Spike Lee to Kevin Bacon. Spike Lee appears in the Associated Press's cheesy propaganda vid, "Obama Ushers in 'new Age'" with Kevin Bacon. Easy and fun.
But let's do one that's a bit more challenging. Keith Olbermann. Ahem. Ok. Keith Olbermann was with Spike Lee in MarzuqVision's "U.S. Government A Puppet Of Big Oil" and Spike Lee appears in the Associated Press's cheesy propaganda vid, "Obama Ushers in 'new Age'" with Kevin Bacon. Two degrees of separation.
OK, but that vid could be challenged on the "mandatory slurp" rule. In fairness, there wasn't a lot of slobbering and drooling for The Chosen One in the preceding vid. We'll try to link Olbermann in a series of slobbering, drooling vids but in the meantime, let's link Oprah to Kevin Bacon. Here the slurp factor is not an issue. You might want to turn the volume down a notch or two.
Oprah Winfrey was in 2tellthenews' "Oprah Lies to her audience, obama,Tricks or Treat,Spike Lee" with Spike Lee. And....
Spike Lee appears in the Associated Press's cheesy propaganda vid, "Obama Ushers in 'new Age'" with Kevin Bacon.
Praise Obama on YouTube version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. Hours and hours of amusement! Fun for the whole family!
