Rush Limbaugh:Iconoclast

I am sorry to hear of Rush Limbaugh's passing, though we knew he was losing his battle to cancer.

Rush Limbaugh was one of the most influential people of his era, perhaps, the most influential person of his time.

I hate the descriptions. the templates, the cliches that describe this luminary: Right-wing, conservative, political lightning rod, etc. He might have been some of those things and he might have been all of those things, but he was bigger than that. Much bigger.

Most of the world only knows the caricature of Rush Limbaugh, as they only know the caricature of anyone who threatens the status quo. Donald Trump, for instance. It is sad, if not tragic, that most people do not understand or appreciate Limbaugh's significance. 

There were times when I would point out that the media had an overt bias and reflexively, the zombioid would spew "Fox News and Rush Limbaugh." Let's skip Faux News for now. The fact that the brainwashed actually considered a man with a microphone and fewer than ten employees with roughly ten hours (minus commercials) of midday programming, a counterbalance speaks loudly about the sheeple's skewed perceptions.

What is frustrating for me is that the Lefties never understood Limbaugh and they were so repulsed by his existence that they never took the time to listen to him. In his limited airtime, Limbaugh did not have the capability to advance a counter news cycle. He might have started out with an agenda, writing books like "The Way Things Ought To Be" but he soon morphed into a media pundit/critic/destroyer. An iconoclast extraordinaire!

Another expression of frustration: Limbaugh got us to a point where we no longer trusted the MSM and importantly, he spawned other media heretics, but the next step is to advance our own news cycle. We can save that subject for another day.

As someone who does not consider himself a Conservative and who thinks Ronald Reagan was overrated and felt no allegiance to or fellowship with Jesse Helms, Oliver North, Dennis Hastert, Bob Livingston, Bob Dole, Dick Cheney, Colin Powell, and Phil N. DeBlanc, I am shouting to the heavens that Rush Limbaugh was more inspirational than all of these figures combined. His message was more universal than any ism. 

More than anyone else, Rush Limbaugh freed our minds from the vice grip of news media. He might have started his career as a Reagan apologist, but he morphed into something much more powerful. By pointing out falsity after falsity after falsity promoted by MSM, Limbaugh (and other imitators who followed) advanced freedom of thought and expression on a scale never before witnessed.

Rush Limbaugh might be most responsible for the polarization of America (May God bless him once more.) The gulf is not Left vs. Right or Liberal vs. Conservative or any other such empty blather. We are divided by those who believe MSM is authoritative--if not infallible--and those of us who acknowledge that MSM is composed of nothing but high-priced whores who promote truth only when truth is to their advantage. The Hive Mind vs. the free mind.

By paper cut after paper cut after paper cut, Limbaugh bled the MSM and they are now but hollow imitations of their mighty personas.

Rush Limbaugh did not invent freedom of thought. Rush Limbaugh did not invent freedom of speech. Rush Limbaugh did not invent media heresy. Rush Limbaugh did not invent truth. Rush Limbaugh did, however, promote these values more successfully than anyone who has ever lived.

John Batchelor vs.Donald Trump

I like the diversity of thought as well as the variety of style in fifth estate radio. John Batchelor is pompous and pedantic but I do appreciate his approach. He wants to do high brow conservatism. So there are discussions of things like space travel, the fall of the Neanderthal, dogs, history, Russia, Israel, Islamic terrorism and much, much more.

Batchelor's show is a series of interviews, four segments per hour. Certain guests, Malcolm Hoenlein and Monica Crowley for instance, are awarded more than one segment. Generally speaking the show is informative and fast moving.

The caveat of Batchelor is that he is GOP establishment all the way. He is perhaps the only person in talk radio who can be characterized that way. He was hostile to the Tea Party and even more venomous towards Donald Trump. Earlier in the day, Trump delivered a speech in Detroit that might be a game changer. If Trump stays on message he will likely win the White House.

Last night I listened to one hour of Batchelor's show. In the first hour he hosted Mary Kissel from "Wall Street Journal". WSJ also loathes Trump. It's a job requirement. Per usual she pointed out all the ineptitude of the Trump campaign. She also said Ryan is leading Nehlen by a margin of 80 to 14.  I guess we find out soon enough about that one.

In the second segment Batchelor brought on a "Washington Post" shill to discuss the execution of a recently-executed Iranian spy. No need to link this because it is all over the web and elsewhere. The WAPO hack had two objectives: 1. Exonerate Hillary. 2. Blame the viralization of this story entirely on Donald Trump. Mission accomplished with an assist to the host of the show.

Batchelor then brought on someone to discuss the merits of free trade. The guest expert delivered the day with arguments that only a Sanders-Castro idiot would not be able to understand. Unfortunately, Batchelor framed the entire interview with the "Trump is anti-trade" meme. More than a slight exaggeration as I see it.

Batchelor had a fourth segment where he discussed The Veteran's Administration and just how helpless Donald Trump would be to improve this leviathan. More hot air from Trump.

Yes, I appreciate the diversity of thought and style on fifth estate radio but the cryptic editorializing by the likes of Batchelor is creepy. As with the MSM, it is disingenuous. Listening to them (Batchelor or MSM)  one feels like one has been targeted by flimflam artists intent on selling them driveway pavement of extremely dubious quality. It is at times like this that I appreciate the honesty of the Limbaughs who put their cards on the table and who never try to hide their editorializing.

Most Repeated Cliche In Tonight's State Of The Union Address? I Am Betting on "Gun Violence"

Happy Birthday to Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, Jeff Bezos and Rob Zombie.

As Judith Regan pointed out long ago, there are a lot of similarities between Stern and Limbaugh. They are both prototypical Capricorns, breaking molds and finding success in a serpentine, abrupt or unpredictable manner. Bezos probably also fits this prototype but I know less about his biography.

Speaking of Capricorns, rest in peace, David Bowie. I consider myself someone who understands pop culture even when I run away from it. Bowie, like Elvis, will always be a bit of a head scratcher for me. Bowie was born on Elvis Presley's birthday and the similarities are unending. It is so much easier for me to see these artists's goodness than their greatness. Of course, "The Man Who Sold The World," "Young Americans," "Changes" will always resonate with me. It's always a shock when an icon dies suddenly.

Dig this segue: El Chapo claims to be a Capricorn, born on Christmas day but that issue is in dispute. Meanwhile prototypical Leo, Sean Penn, should probably be more concerned about the wrath of the Mexican cartels than any legal trouble he might incur as a result of his association with the reputed Christmas baby.

BTW, I find Penn's association with El Chupo much less disturbing and much less sleazy than his bromance with his fellow Leo, the late Hugo Chavez. And speaking of chronically dishonest and thuggish Leo's President Obama will deliver his final State Of The Union Address this evening. Everyone is on edge: what will be the most-repeated cliche in tonight's speech?

I am betting on "gun violence." The over/under is three and a half but I think it could hit seven or higher. "Social justice" and "income equality" seem a bit overpriced to me but you can bet they will be honorably mentioned.

Of course, the so-called smart money is going with "climate change." If you are playing the climate change chug along game and you have to drink every time you hear that vapid cliche, you might have a nasty hangover tomorrow.

Most bookies are offering pretty generous odds at the mere mention of "global warming." Consider that a bad bet at any price. Don't think the old gal has one more in her, at least not in January. I am loaded for bear and hope to hit the bullseye with "gun violence."

Limbaugh's Summary of Scandalgate

Rush Limbaugh is an interesting character for a number of reasons. I have expressed my frustrations with him in the past but he seems like a really good guy who will not waver on his principles.

Limbaugh hits a home run with this fulmination. This is a concise summary of the most scandalous administration in US History. There is a reason why this man has been king of the hill for a quarter of a century.

Caller Discussing Larry Sinclair Gets Dropped From Rush Limbaugh Show

"Darn it we lost her out there." Poor Rush. One of the first videos (actually it was an audio but it was grabbed off of Youtube so it was a video) posted on this blog was a caller who got past the call screener and mentioned John Drew and Larry Sinclair in the same breath on Rush Limbaugh's show. Limbaugh scolded the naughty caller who had deceptively told the producer that he wanted to discuss Hillary and banished the slob from the airwaves.

The same post had a video of a similar event on the Mark Levin show. Ironically or not, both vids have been pulled from Youtube.

To reiterate, I thought of Larry Sinclair as a Clinton creation until I read Sinclair's book. As Sinclair was reaching the pinnacle of attention the corrupt state of Delaware swooped down and incarcerated him on bogus charges. The fact that Sinclair was disappeared by the Fuhrer did more to establish his credibility than anything he could ever say or do. The Bidens would not have silenced him if Sinclair did not have a dangerous message.

To further reiterate. This vid is posted by BirtherReport.com. I believe Barack Obama was born in Hawaii. I also believe STRONGLY that Barack Obama is the father of the birther movement. He supplied the false narrative, the material discrepancy if you will, that he was born in Kenya and his literary agents wittingly or otherwise repeated the narrative for seventeen years. Obama's motives for creating and maintaining this false narrative has never been explored by the Fourth Estate.

 Back to the video below. Reception is strong until the caller mentions Larry Sinclair and doggone it, Rush loses her. Poor Rush.

Democrats Are Attempting To Raise Funds Over Possible Impeachment

Impeachment is a many-splendored thing. There are layers and facets and intricacies and technicalities. The important question is once more, "what did the president know and when did he know it?" We probably will not get this question answered as long as Eric Holder is in office. Some Democrats favor the immediate impeachment of the president. To Democratic Senate candidate Kesha Rogers, BHO has already committed impeachable offenses and corrective action is overdue. http://obotomy.blogspot.com/2014/03/a-radio-interview-with-kesha-rogers.html Rogers' viewpoint is that the Republicans do not want impeachment because they want to keep Obama around as a fundraising godsend. Could be. Rush Limbaugh says the GOP will never impeach the president because of his unique iconic status. Never mind that he might just be the worst of the worst American political criminals, he is also the first African-American president and as such he is immune to criticism, to say nothing of prosecution. Meanwhile, the Democrats are desperate for a political issue to save their grip on the Senate. Is impeachment the cause celebre that could unify a political party that seems to have exhausted its ideas? Anything, to distract from Obamacare? "He's trying so hard...racists...racism...cool celebrity friends..." If the IRS scandal can be traced back to the White House (and it seems that it can) impeachment is tough to avoid. This could divide the GOP along the same lines that divide immigration policy. For a multitude of reasons, The Beltway/Establishment GOP would probably oppose impeachment. The unwashed masses who are vaguely familiar with the US Constitution, US History and the rule of law might hold a different perspective. My viewpoint is that impeachment is a bubbling volcano and all of the entrenched punditry who will tell us "what we should be discussing..." will ultimately join in the discussion. The ground is shaking.

Has Rush Limbaugh Lost The Will To Fight?

I usually listen to Rush Limbaugh for about forty five minutes/day, switching off to local programming when he goes to commercial. I used to think of Limbaugh as an often-entertaining bag of wind but I grew more appreciative of him post 9/11 and even more so post-Obama. He is simply more truthful than the mainstream media especially in regards to the anointed one.

Twice recently Limbaugh has told us to forget about impeachment. I understand Obama's fortified status but so what? There is a preponderance of evidence that leads us to conclude that Barack Hussein Obama is not just a fraud, a thug, a tyrant, a slob, a bully, a buffoon, an incompetent, and a pathological liar, he is more importantly....a habitual criminal!

If we do not fully investigate the Obama Administration's ongoing abuse of power, then we put our seal of approval on their crimes. We must investigate. We must fight. And should the preponderance of evidence rise to a level beyond reasonable doubt (and I strongly suspect it will) then we must impeach and/or prosecute. Damn the torpedoes.

Getting back to Limbaugh. On Friday, Rush expanded his futility rant and said that Lerner and Shulman and Holder and a rogues gallery of unsavory characters were also made of Teflon and would ultimately escape justice. We should forget all about the rule of law and the pursuit of justice and the righting of wrongs. Huh?

Men like Jim Jordan and Trey Gowdy and Darrel Issa disagree, Rush. They have not betrayed us just yet and they are willing to fight. Maybe it's time for Rush Limbaugh to play the back nine. Pass that golden microphone to someone who still has functioning gonads.

They have been tough on you, Rush, but you always fought back. Now, we need to know. Do you still have the will to fight?
