I ordered a used copy of Joel Gilbert's "Dreams From My Real Father" off of Ebay for $8, including shipping. Half.com and Amazon had roughly the same deal but I ended up going with some Ebayer in Michigan.
In the past I have compared the mysterious life of the Barack Obama to the JFK assassination. The parallels are legion. In each situation most people accept a suspicious story because they cannot deal with the cognitive dissonance they might stir up with inquiry. Curiosity killed the cat, after all. Eyes forward.
Joel Gilbert is to the Mysterious Barack Obama what Oliver Stone is to the JFK assassination. I know nothing about Gilbert but I can tell you all you need to know about Oliver Stone. Oliver Stone is the worst filmmaker in history. Further, I disagree with Stone's premise that John Kennedy was killed by Clay Shaw's crew. I also reject the notion that Jim Garrison was a white knight and I reject the idea that Kennedy was a peacenik. And yet, I liked Stone's "JFK."
"JFK" was refreshing because it was more credible than the Warren Report's Lone Nut Who Spoke Russian So Fluently That His Future Wife Thought He Was A Russian Citizen But Who Was Unfortunately Murdered By A Second Lone Nut Who Just Happened To Have Long-Standing Ties To Organized Crime And Who Liked To Bring His Gun Into The Bowels Of The Dallas Police Department When He Was Not Assisting A Stammering Prosecutor In His Pained Efforts To Answer Simple Questions...Besides, the movie antagonized the news media. By that standard alone, it is a masterpiece.
"DFMRF" has antagonized the news media but on a much smaller scale. It is not a Hollywood movie so it is much easier for the press to ignore. What I like best about the digifilm is the exploration of Barack Obama's family. I have seen Gilbert explain Obama's maternal grandfather in TV interviews where he elaborated more than he did in the movie. I wish he would have explained him further.
Gilbert outs Stanley Armour Dunham as a CIA agent. During the Cold War CIA agents often posed as furniture salesmen (these days they are consultants.) Dunham moved his family around a lot but he always sold furniture close to Air Force bases. He might have been trying to monitor or infiltrate Communists near Honolulu and in the course of such activity, he might have invited Frank Marshall Davis to his home.
Dunham's rebellious daughter (a woman who would ultimately prove to be as mysterious as her espionagey father or her shadowy son) took a liking to the ever-cool Davis. Their consorting would produce a future president. This presented a dicey problem for the elder Dunham. His daughter was knocked up by a card-carrying Communist. If the Company learned of this development, he would lose his security clearance and he might be stuck selling furniture for real.
Problem solved by Barack Obama Senior. He married the pregnant woman and things seemed to improve for all concerned. Throughout the film, Gilbert shows pictures of Barack Obama II side by side with Davis. Barry Soetoro certainly resembles Davis more than he resembles Barack Obama Sr.
Barry Soetoro (I am using this aka at this time to avoid confusion with BHO Sr.) spoke at length about the influence of a mysterious "Frank" in his autobiography. The media does not want to examine Frank too closely. Gilbert does so. Barry Soetoro's verbiage often resembles Davis's verbiage as much as Soetoro resembles Davis facially.
If Davis is the real father, it explains why the Dunhams would allow their grandson to have contact with this reprobate. In retrospect, that probably wasn't a good decision. Davis is probably the most influential figure in Barry Soetoro's life.
Gilbert's case is not airtight. But as with "JFK" I give him credit for trying to expose the truth. And like "JFK," "Dreams From My Real Father" is more plausible than the official story. If you have any curiosity at all about Barack Obama/Barry Soetoro then by all means carve out 97 minutes and watch this movie. It is worth your time.

Off-Topic: Billy Sol Estes' Letter To A Federal Prosecutor Stating That LBJ Had Conspired To Kill Eight People
And yes, one of the murdered is John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
Another is Josefa Johnson, the president's sister.

Mr. Estes is willing to testify that LBJ ordered these killings, and that he transmitted his orders through Cliff Carter to Mac Wallace, who executed the murders. In the cases of murders nos. 1-7, Mr. Estes' knowledge of the precise details concerning the way the murders were executed stems from conversations he had shortly after each event with Cliff Carter and Mac Wallace.
In addition, a short time after Mr. Estes was released from prison in 1971, he met with Cliff Carter and they reminisced about what had occurred in the past, including the murders. During their conversation, Carter orally compiled a list of 17 murders which had been committed, some of which Mr. Estes was unfamiliar. A living witness was present at that meeting and should be willing to testify about it. He is Kyle Brown, recently of Houston and now living in Brady, Texas.
Mr. Estes, states that Mac Wallace, whom he describes as a "stone killer" with a communist background, recruited Jack Ruby, who in turn recruited Lee Harvey Oswald. Mr. Estes says that Cliff Carter told him that Mac Wallace fired a shot from the grassy knoll in Dallas, which hit JFK from the front during the assassination.
Mr. Estes declares that Cliff Carter told him the day Kennedy was killed, Fidel Castro also was supposed to be assassinated and that Robert Kennedy, awaiting word of Castro's death, instead received news of his brother's killing.
Mr. Estes says that the Mafia did not participate in the Kennedy assassination but that itparticipation was discussed prior to the event, but rejected by LBJ, who believed if the Mafia were involved, he would never be out from under its blackmail.
Mr. Estes asserts that Mr. Ronnie Clark, of Wichita, Kansas, has attempted on several occasions to engage him in conversation. Mr. Clark, who is a frequent visitor to Las Vegas, has indicated in these conversations a detailed knowledge corresponding to Mr. Estes' knowledge of the JFK assassination. Mr. Clark claims to have met with Mr. Jack Ruby a few days prior to the assassination, at which time Kennedy's planned murder was discussed.
Mr. Estes declares that discussions were had with Jimmy Hoffa concerning having his aide, Larry Cabell, kill Robert Kennedy while the latter drove around in his convertible.
Mr. Estes has records of his phone calls during the relevant years to key persons mentioned in the foregoing account.
II. The Illegal Cotton Allotments
Mr. Estes desires to discuss the infamous illegal cotten allotment schemes in great detail. He has recordings made at the time of LBJ, Cliff Carter and himself discussing the scheme. These recordings were made with Cliff Carter's knowledge as a means of Carter and Estes protecting them selves should LBJ order their deaths.
Mr. Estes believes these tape recordings and the rumors of other recordings allegedly in his possession are the reason he has not been murdered.
III. Illegal Payoffs
Mr. Estes is willing to disclose illegal payoff schemes, in which he collected and passed on to Cliff Carter and LBJ millions of dollars. Mr. Estes collected payoff money on more than one occasion from George and Herman Brown of Brown and Root, which was delivered to LBJ.
In your letter of May 29, 1984, you request "(1) the information, including the extent of corroborative evidence, that Mr. Estes sources of his information, and (3) the extent of his involvement, if any, in each of those events or any subsequent cover-ups."
In connection with Item # 1, I wish to declare, as Mr. Estes' attorney, that Mr. Estes is prepared without reservation to provide all the information he has. Most of the information contained in this letter I obtained from him yesterday for the first time. While Mr. Estes has been pre-occupied by this knowledge almost every day for the last 22 years, it was not until we began talking yesterday that he could face up to disclosing it to another person. My impression from our conversation yesterday is that Mr. Estes, in the proper setting, will be able to recall and orally recount a criminal matters. It is also my impression that his interrogation in such a setting will elicit additional corroborative evidence as his memory is stimulated.
In connection with your Item #2, Mr. Estes has attempted in this letter to provide his sources of information.
In connection with your Item #3, Mr. Estes states that he never participated in any of the murders. It may be alleged that he participated in subsequent cover-ups. His response to this is that had he conducted himself any differently, he, too, would have been a murder victim.
Mr. Estes wishes to confirm that he will abide by the conditions set forth in your letter and that he plans to act with total honesty and candor in any dealings with the Department of Justice or any federal investigative agency.

Off-Topic: LBJ's Mistress Tells All!
Like global warming, the JFK assassination is not "settled." A consensus of journalists does not determine truth any more than does a consensus of prostituted scientists.
This is a subject I will revisit from time to time. My belief is that we will see a "grand unified theory" that will challenge and displace the "lone nut employed at strategic site followed by another lone nut with ties to organized crime who just happens to roam the hallways of The Dallas Police Department and who assists the prosecutor in fielding questions" explanation. On The Fiftieth Anniversary Of The JFK Assassination
Somewhere in late adolescence and into early adulthood I underwent a crisis of perception. It dawned on me that most people most of the time do not concern themselves with truth. They prefer comforting thought to objective reasoning.
The battle between comfort and truth is played out in our heads constantly on a personal, political and abstract plane. The comfort vs. truth attribute is matter of degree, not kind. Few of us are rational all of the time. Few of us live in a fantasy all of the time.
T v C could be expressed as a continuum, much as we express one's introversion or extroversion as a matter of degree. I am not aware of any test or questionnaire to determine one's attraction to truth for truth's sake. When such test is devised, rest assured Obama supporters will cluster on the left side of the Bell Curve. Obama supporters are phobic about examining their leader's true nature for fear that such insight will destroy their transcendentally-themed fantasy.
I see parallels between Obama supporters and the public's treatment of the JFK assassination. Most people's opinions have defaulted to media consensus. Most people do not care to dive into that rabbit hole and as such their shallow opinions reflect the dogma of media orthodoxy.
The JFK assassination started a trend of credibility erosion that continues to this day. Each year, fewer people support the incumbent news media. We are witnessing a half century of decline and yet, the fourth estate is still the most persuasive institution in America. To understand this, we have to recognize the Olympian powers the news media wielded in 1963.
I was what the marketing pros would call an "early adopter" in the rejection of the mainstream media. I believed that people should embrace truth at all cost and the news media should tell the truth. Instead, they verified comforting thoughts. In those days the media was not overtly leftist. They promoted a bias for simplicity and a constant preference for the path of lesser resistance. I was drawn to the JFK assassination because I thought the media were cowards who let their cowardice occlude truth at every turn.
The earliest heretics were leftists like Mark Lane. They started with the premise that the military-industrial complex was the source of all evil and proceeded from there. One of the problems with this viewpoint is that requires the re-invention of JFK. In real life John Fitzgerald Kennedy was a proud supporter of the MIC. He was a component of the MIC. This notion that he would have spent his days stuffing daisies into gun barrels is simply not consistent with his track record.
Over time other suspects emerged. Congress opened the House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1976. More enigmas. More paradoxes. More mysteries. More riddles. Then Oliver Stone released "JFK" in 1991. It is amazing how a movie can open up the public discourse in a way that all of the commissions and committees and hearings never can.
I dislike Oliver Stone almost as much as I loathe his movies. I don't agree with the premise of "JFK" that the MIC in conjunction with LBJ killed the president. Jim Garrison, the hero played by Kevin Costner was accused of being a Marcello pawn in real life. And yet, I loved this movie.
I loved "JFK" because it challenged media orthodoxy. Stone is no hero but he was temporarily heroic. Briefly, he joined the fifth estate. For his efforts Stone would be stalked and ridiculed. The press had become a main character in the story.
We have heard of the thin blue line, the Mafia's omerta and other codes of silence. The CIA and FBI keep secrets long after the principals in question have gone to their graves. Every institution protects its members from cads who tell stories "out of school." But no institution is as protective of its image and its secrets quite like the American news media.
Members of the fourth estate do not report on or question their club members. They might give a Howard Kurtz an hour a week to toss bean bags but even Kurtz ends up on Fox News, an illegitimate gate crasher network. It might be long ago and far away but club members will never challenge Cronkite and friends. It won't happen.
I believe it was "The Washington Post" who procured a copy of the "JFK" script prior to its release. They did not feel the need to do this for "Platoon" or "Wall Street" but those movies were not about them. About two years after "JFK", "Case Closed" by Gerald Posner seemingly fell out of the sky.
Who the hell was Gerald Posner? I read the book and it was highly insulting. Posner's tone is condescending and he just does not do much refuting. People are silly for believing that which is not media sanctioned. Case closed.
The counter-heresy movement was bolstered by Vincent Bugliosi's "Reclaiming History" in 2007. For better or worse, it was released after I stopped reading books on the subject so I cannot criticize it. I will admit that I am suspicious, however.
I got interrupted as I was writing this yesterday (Friday. It is Saturday as I finish this piece.) and then last night I watched a two hour History Channel special. Robert Blakey summarized the saga by comparing the JFK assassination to a Rorshack ink blot. Thanks for hijacking my thoughts, Mr. Blakey.
Truth is, we see ourselves in this tragedy and we use this event to confirm our prejudices. Peaceniks blame the military. "Mother Jones" types blame big oil. Northerners blame Texans. Bush haters blame the 41st president. The counter-heresy pundits believe in the sanctity of the orthodox media and view all other viewpoints as naive, kooky and illegitimate. Comforting thought once more weighs heavier than truth.
I would like to think I am above the prejudice when I support the Mafia hypothesis. I have asked myself if I find this viewpoint attractive because it invalidates the media-sanctioned viewpoint. Yes, I am skeptical of a news media that will not break ranks on JFK or Barack Obama. A news cartel that goes to great lengths to discredit their critics be they Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh or Oliver Stone. A news cartel whose loyalty to the political class is exceeded only by their loyalty to their fellow newsmen.
I would not encourage anyone to adopt the JFK assassination as a hobby. It is too alluring, too addictive, and usually ends in destitution, frustration, loneliness and futility. But I caution everyone to be wary of those who endorse the media-sanctioned, case closed orthodoxy. These are the same people who advise against looking into the secrets of Barack Obama. The media have everything under control. Nothing to see here folks.

Bush haters blame the 41st president. The counter-heresy pundits believe in the sanctity of the orthodox media and view all other viewpoints as naive, kooky and illegitimate. Comforting thought once more weighs heavier than truth.
I would like to think I am above the prejudice when I support the Mafia hypothesis. I have asked myself if I find this viewpoint attractive because it invalidates the media-sanctioned viewpoint. Yes, I am skeptical of a news media that will not break ranks on JFK or Barack Obama. A news cartel that goes to great lengths to discredit their critics be they Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh or Oliver Stone. A news cartel whose loyalty to the political class is exceeded only by their loyalty to their fellow newsmen.
I would not encourage anyone to adopt the JFK assassination as a hobby. It is too alluring, too addictive, and usually ends in destitution, frustration, loneliness and futility. But I caution everyone to be wary of those who endorse the media-sanctioned, case closed orthodoxy. These are the same people who advise against looking into the secrets of Barack Obama. The media have everything under control. Nothing to see here folks.
The only thing more mysterious than the death of John Fitzgerald Kennedy is the life of Barack Hussein Obama. Unfortunately we will not learn much about either subject in the mainstream media.

I Don't Give A Damn What Posner And Bugliosi Say, The Jack Ruby Saga Will NEVER Pass The Smell Test
I cannot devote my life to the JFK investigation but some people would say I have already done so. I cannot analyze the forensics the way the pros do. I cannot investigate every Hunt and Harrelson and Sturgis. But I can offer a few educated opinions.
1. The media lie but they lie in a systematic and predictable manner.
2. Then as now, the press has become a character in the story.
3. Joe Kennedy was mob connected.
4. The mafia helped JFK win the 1960 presidential election.
5. For reasons not well understood, RFK betrayed the mafia.
6. Jack Ruby had extensive ties to organized crime.
7. An armed, organized crime figure with access to the bowels of the Dallas Police Department will never, ever pass the smell test.
8. The US government might have downplayed the mafia connection to spare a lot of embarrassment to a lot of government insiders. The degree of mafia/government enmeshment could have caused a loss of government credibility if exposed. It is plausible that federal law enforcement blamed Oswald and then quietly launched a vendetta.

JFK, Obama And Me
We are just a week away from the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination. I cannot tell you how many lost weekends I have devoted to a fruitless pursuit of the real story. Each time I thought I had an explanation another plausible story would surface. The JFK assassination is singularly weird. The only thing as strange as the mysterious death of John Fitzgerald Kennedy is the mysterious life of Barack Hussein Obama.
The JFK Assassination is more than an elaborate game of Clue (I say Oswald did it in the Book Depository using a Mannlicher-Carcano...) It provides a fertile laboratory for the study of belief formulation. People who are neither well versed in orthodoxy or contra-orthodoxy nonetheless hold strong opinions about the orthodox narrative as well as the contra-orthodox narratives. Frustrating to scholars, a lot of pundits judge the alternative theories collectively. Oliver Stone, Woody's dad, Fidel, the Mob. It's all one chorus and we got cotton on our ears.
It's so easy to lose sight of the human element. John Kennedy--father, husband, brother, son, friend and president--was murdered. There are multiple efforts to shape arguments, if not rewrite history to claim JFK's memory. The saga is burdened by the complexity of character. My assessment is that JFK was a flawed man but an excellent president. He is possibly our best president.
JFK is also an atypical Kennedy in most respects. For one thing, he was likable. Philosophically, he was worlds apart from his father or brother Ted or any kinfolk of the next generation. Yes, he was a womanizer but his were not normal temptations. Most men take the high road but most men are not being pursued by Marilyn Monroe or Angie Dickinson or Judith Campbell. It's easy to forsake all others when one's only prospect is the dickefrau from the truck stop.
Years ago I read Carl Oglesby's "The Yankee and Cowboy War." Oglesby came out of the radical left but he left most of his prejudices out of the book. This is before we entered the era of hyper-politics when one could read a man's treatise on a given subject and never learn the author's opinions on gay marriage or recycling or the nicknames of sports franchises.
Oglesby's premise is that America was being fought over by two cartels, the Yankees and the Cowboys. Forget political parties. These guys jockey for control of both. The divisions are partly geographical but not entirely so. It's David Rockefeller and his horses and men versus the lesser organized Howard Hughes posse. Cut to the chase: the Cowboys killed JFK.
I had accepted the Cowboy explanation even though it left a lot of holes to fill in. Later, I would come to believe that it was the Mafia, not the Cowboys who killed JFK. Oliver Stone took the Oglesby template and loaded it with his own figurines. Personally, politically and artistically, I loathe Oliver Stone and I had abandoned the Cowboy Theorem (Stone converted it into a military-industrial theorem) for the Marcello/Trafficante Theorem. With those differences, you might think that I hated "JFK." No. "JFK" is the only Stone movie I like. It's a compelling movie.
The FBI recorded Carlos Marcello admitting to killing Kennedy. There are tape recording that implicate Santos Trafficante in a conspiracy to kill Kennedy in Florida. After Trafficante went to mob heaven, his former consigliore implicated him in the murder. Joe Kennedy's mob ties had been greatly understated. And the ribbon on the package: Jack Ruby did indeed have significant ties to organized crime and was visited by two subordinates of Carlos Marcello while incarcerated. Guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt? No. A preponderance of evidence? In this juror's opinion, yes.
If I had more time I would continue to read up on the JFK assassination. Constraints what they be, I had to let it go. But this story just won't quit. Hardly a year goes by when fingers point in yet another direction. A prominent lawyer, Barr McClellan (father of George Bush's press secretary, Scott McClellan) claims LBJ orchestrated the assassination. E. Howard Hunt makes a deathbed confession. Someone implicates Nixon. A strong case for Fidel Castro is promoted. That Grassy Knoll will only hold so many assassins, folks.
Which brings us to Barack Obama. Barry was only three months old when the president was shot. Can't hang this one on him. But the story of Obama's life is stranger than Kennedy's death. A murder not solved to the public's satisfaction? Happens on a fairly frequent basis. An unvetted, mystery man in the White House for five years and counting? There is no precedent. Stranger yet, about half of the country has zero curiosity about the only man in the White House who could never receive a security clearance.
A man graduates from an Ivy League college and none of his classmates had ever seen him. One hundred and forty political science students. African American men are about seven per cent of the US population. On average, there would be about ten African American students in a class that size. Barack Obama is tall and handsome and loves to be the center of attention. Apparently, he mailed it in. Literally.
The Invisible Man at Columbia is not the only mystery concerning Barack Obama. He has spawned an entire industry devoted to solving his many riddles. The bigger mystery is why does at least half the population of America have zero curiosity about the Enigma-In-Chief?
According to Rasmussen, about 45% of likely voters approve of Barack Obama's job performance. That is inexplicable. I understand why Rahm Emanuel approves of Barack Obama. I understand why John Corzine approves of Barack Obama. I understand why Jeffrey Immelt approves of Barack Obama. But just about everyone else? Every conceivable demographic from Millenials to Seniors to African Americans to Californians, union workers, non-union workers, you name it, has fared poorly under Barack Obama. Why then, the unwavering support?
I said earlier that if I had more time I would read up on the JFK assassination. Before I did that I would read up on ELF waves, HAARP, techniques of mind control, techniques of brainwashing, microwavable brain signals, Coast to Coast radio guests, anything, anything, anything at all that mind shed light on the The Great Bamboozle. I hope we will be more successful solving the mysteries of Barack Obama's life than we were at solving the mysteries of JFK's death. We can dream, can't we?
