At least 21 politicians nationwide have now said they would return or give away more than $600,000 in donations from Thornton, a leading funder of the Democratic party.
The Campaign Legal Center, a Washington-based election watchdog organization, filed a formal complaint against Thornton and three of its lawyers with federal regulators, arguing the attorneys illegally acted as “straw donors” for the law firm, which gave the lawyers “bonuses” that offset their donations.

WASHINGTON — A conservative filmmaker has a suspicion as to why his colleague, Dinesh D’Souza, was just indicted on federal charges of violating campaign finance laws.
Dennis Michael Lynch, a successful filmmaker in his own right, sees a political motive behind the charge.
“Is he guilty of what it is they claim he did? I have no idea,” Lynch told WND. But, he added, “Guilty or not, they’re going to throw him into the mud to discredit his name.”

If You Voted For Obama In 2008, You Were A Dupe But if You Voted For Him In 2012...
Note: I composed the following on election day but left Facebook before posting it.
I never thought I would see this day. America has been ravaged from within. I am Charlton Heston screaming at the Statue of Liberty. It would not be a nuclear war that would destroy America. Rather, it would be an economic Armageddon that would spell our demise. It is suicide on the installment plan but it is suicide nonetheless.
Barack Obama might be the only president who hated America. And hate America he does. He hates American traditions and customs. He hates the US Constitution and he hates all Americans who cannot be used as political pawns.
I am not footnoting Obama's overt acts of hostility at this stage of the game. Yes, I advocate for rational discourse but this rant is directed to people indifferent or even hostile to the very premise of fact. If one practices deliberate, intentional, willful blindness as a preferred lifestyle then I can't be bothered to line up the ducks for you.
Oh, but Obama is hostile to America, make no doubt about it. Dinesh D'Souza wrote a book and filmed a documentary wherein he attributes Obama's overt malice for America to his embracing of anti-colonialism. I know. I know. I know. You are dismissive of D'Souza and can't be bothered with anything he might utter. Yours is the politically correct cannon and D'Souza has been indexed several times over.
But consider this. What other president could create an entire industry based on speculation as to the intellectual basis of his anti-Americanism? The what had long been established. The why has always been mystifying. Millions of us turned out at the theaters in a desperate attempt to answer the questions, who is this unvetted president and why does he hate us so?
I don't understand self-hating Americans but I recognize that they have always been with us. America was good to Ethel and Julius Rosenberg. There was certainly less anti-Semitism here than in the Soviet Union.
America was good to Lee Harvey Oswald. America was good to Major Hasan. America was good to Anwar al-Awlaki. But why does a man who takes two jets on vacation at taxpayer expense still have a chip on his shoulder and invites his followers to vote out of revenge?

Romney was the vastly superior candidate if only because he acknowledged the existence of a problem. When Obama revealed to David Letterman that he didn't know how big the national debt happened to be, I don't know what was more depressing: The fact that the President of the United States displayed his abject ignorance of the country's fate or that he did so on "Late Night With David Letterman."
The Democrats seized control of both houses of Congress in 2006 and shortly thereafter our debt skyrocketed. If such things matter, the Republicans of that era can make the claim that they were the lesser of two evils. George Bush and Rick Santorum and Tom Delay had sent us putt-putting towards the fiscal cliff. The Democrats took control and threw a brick on the accelerator. What do we have to shown for this doubling of national debt? The world's best rail system? A doubling of med schools and hospitals? A revamped infrastructure? Colonies on the moon? No. We have nothing to show for our spending spree. Nothing! Nothing! Nothing!
You have underestimated the catastrophic nature of fiscal collapse. You have ignored the social ramifications of an economic tsunami. The so-called meltdown of 2008 will be a night in a pub by comparison.
We should be hesitant to inject Hitler into any conversation but that demagogue would never have been able to hijack a great country had it not been for a preceding currency crisis. Swastikas now fly in Greece and it is estimated that 25 % of Greek citizens have allied themselves with the Neo-Nazis (And Greece was fortunate to be bailed out by France and Germany. If we go down, there is no one big enough to bail us out.)
The Neo-Nazis of Greece seem to be as woefully ignorant of economic principles as our own Occupy Wall Street crowd. But both groups understand finger-pointing and scapegoating and blame. "There is nothing so frightful as ignorance in action." You have witnessed the ignorance. Brace yourself for the action.
Obama possibly, nay probably, wants to oversee economic collapse. Tyrants have never known how to make countries rich but they certainly know how to make countries poor. The gulf between rich and poor will be bridged. Social justice achieved.
We will all look silly having spent our years arguing over budgets when there is nothing left to budget. Dollars to Medicaid or Medicare? Neither. Who should receive food stamps? Doesn't matter. Guns or butter? Neither. Social Security or sewers or VA hospitals? None of the above. All gone.
Will you remember how charming Obama was on "The View" when gas is five dollars a gallon? Will you remember how cutesie pie he happened to be on Jimmy Fallon when you stand in line for gas? Will you think of Oprah or Ashton or Demi when there is no heat for your home? Thank goodness we will have fond memories to get us through our troubled times.

Gallup Polling is attacked by the DOJ after publishing less than favorable results about the incumbent. The tip of the iceberg!
Widespread corruption: The word nixonian might come to mean virtuous by comparison. I will reduce this encyclopedia of material to one case. In return for lucrative government contracts and no corporate taxation, General Electric serves up NBC, MSNBC, Telemundo, The Weather Channel and much, much more to promote the Obama agenda. Whatever else one might say about Fox News or EIB Network, they are not dependent on graft for their survival. Somewhere, Spiro is smiling.

"2016": A Bullet Point Review
1. Obama is starting to remind me of the JFK assassination. There is a hunger to explain suspicious behavior. D'Souza is a latter day Robert Blakey.
2. Much of the documentary excerpts "Dreams From My Father." With the dozens of fabrications can we even trust the tone and tenor of this work? And if a ghost writer does emerge, does that change the equation?
3. Since the 1950s movies have lived by one rule: Give them something they can't get on TV. Unfortunately, this mentality leads to an indulgence of gimmickry. I hate shaky cams and blurry cams and super close-ups and whatever you call the bullshit scan-and-pan-in-the-theater technique where part of the talking head's face is off-camera. And the silly ass reconstructed telephone conversations with inconsistent audio was annoying. But hey, this is a paying audience. Got to remind them that they are in a movie theater and they are not watching "60 Minutes" in their living rooms.
4. As much as I fear our ballooning deficit, I don't know if there is a deliberate attempt to destroy America by over-spending. Paul Ryan voted for the stimulus and rode along with Bush and Delay for most of their destruction. If everyone is in the cabal, it isn't much of a conspiracy. Still, if a politician wanted to destroy America from the inside, nothing would do the trick like over-spending.
5. Obama is quoted as saying in effect that he could get his way with white people just by not showing anger. Who ghostwrote that line? Obama has been petulant, if not openly hostile, since his inauguration, if not before.
6. This is not an Obama hatchet job. He is treated with a lot of sympathy. His father was a lout and his mother was a flake. His maternal grandfather was, well, what is the word for a hard drinking communist sympathizer who introduces his grandson to Franklin Marshall Davis? I doubt that President Obama is a happy man.
7. As with the JFK assassination, the theories start cancelling out other theories. The Grassy Knoll can only hold so many assassins. Does Neo-Colonialism explain the puzzling motives of our international man of mystery better than a narcissistic personality disorder? Do either of these things expain Obama's behavior better than John Drew's assertion that Obama is an unreformed, hard core Marxist? Or that he is first and foremost, a Crypto-Muslim? Or that he really is a dumb ass who has been elevated far beyond his talent ala Chauncey Gardener? Let's return to this subject shortly.
8. D'Souza'a radio interviews promoting the movie have been more interesting than the actual movie. In addition to George Obama's ailing child, there is the paternal aunt who lives in poverty in Kenya and another half-brother (who happens to be a physicist now living in China) excommunicated for disagreeing with Barack. George Obama's book deal was probably killed by enemies in high places. I wish some of those stories could have found their way into the theater.
9. I dragged along a thirtysomething buddy of mine who voted for Obama in 2008. He will probably vote for Obama in 2012. He thought the movie was too much conjecture and did not sufficiently blame Bush.
10. With all the allowances for conjecture and speculation, I believe D'Souza's portrait of Obama as an embittered, ideological manchild best explains the absurdity of the last four years. D'Souza has hit the bullseye!

6. This is not an Obama hatchet job. He is treated with a lot of sympathy. His father was a lout and his mother was a flake. His maternal grandfather was, well, what is the word for a hard drinking communist sympathizer who introduces his grandson to Franklin Marshall Davis? I doubt that President Obama is a happy man.
7. As with the JFK assassination, the theories start cancelling out other theories. The Grassy Knoll can only hold so many assassins. Does Neo-Colonialism explain the puzzling motives of our international man of mystery better than a narcissistic personality disorder? Do either of these things expain Obama's behavior better than John Drew's assertion that Obama is an unreformed, hard core Marxist? Or that he is first and foremost, a Crypto-Muslim? Or that he really is a dumb ass who has been elevated far beyond his talent ala Chauncey Gardener? Let's return to this subject shortly.
8. D'Souza'a radio interviews promoting the movie have been more interesting than the actual movie. In addition to George Obama's ailing child, there is the paternal aunt who lives in poverty in Kenya and another half-brother (who happens to be a physicist now living in China) excommunicated for disagreeing with Barack. George Obama's book deal was probably killed by enemies in high places. I wish some of those stories could have found their way into the theater.
9. I dragged along a thirtysomething buddy of mine who voted for Obama in 2008. He will probably vote for Obama in 2012. He thought the movie was too much conjecture and did not sufficiently blame Bush.
10. With all the allowances for conjecture and speculation, I believe D'Souza's portrait of Obama as an embittered, ideological manchild best explains the absurdity of the last four years. D'Souza has hit the bullseye!

Apologies, Errata, etc
The George Obama/Dinesh D'Souza link did not embed. I frequently have bad results when I embed from anywhere other than Youtube. In general, I don't like Fox News because they are as bad as their MSM brethren in covering up the real story. No John Drew. No staged faintings. No inquiries into the president's mysterious background (vetting = birtherism.)
But The Sean Hannity interview of Dinesh D'Souza was jaw-droppping. In addition to a brief chat with an erudite George ("We elected the wrong Obama") Obama, D'Souza mentions an aunt of Obama who lives on a few dollars a day by selling coal on the street. She dreams of dental work. She has a millionaire nephew who lives in luxury in the US but who refuses to share a shilling with his father's sister.
I will continue to search for the interview. I went to D'Souza's website. He might be a great speaker and videographer and writer, but his website sucks. I left there frustrated and without embed.

As previously stated, I did not start from the premise of "I dislike Barack Obama." Yes, I disliked his policies and his values and still do. But the man who has emerged over time is frightening in the extreme. In addition to his chronic duplicity, his narcissism, his lust for power and his cold, arrogant personality, Barack Obama is miserly in the extreme. George Obama: Part I
I did not start from the premise of "I dislike Obama." In 2007 and well into 2008 I thought of Barack Obama as a vain but vapid man but also someone who was probably a decent human being. Naive perhaps, but personable and well-intentioned.
The more I researched Obama the man, the more his portrait morphed into something much more sinister. I dislike Obama's values and policies, but even more frightening is the amoral, manipulative and cold-hearted character who has revealed his horrid soul to all who dare to see. The man behind the curtain is not a bungling, bumbling mountebank. No, the man behind the curtain is much more frightening than the contrived monster he purports to be.
The president is quick to brag about the boundless riches he has reaped through sales of an absurdly bogus autobiography. And he talks the talk about compassion and helping the less fortunate, brother's keeper, etc. Yes, he can take two jets on a family vacation and shell out $50k/week to rent a nice little place on Martha's Vineyard and hobnob with celebrities at $35k per handshake. But can he spare a monthly C-spot for his brother who lives in a 10' x 10' hut? Insert laugh track here.
Trivial aside. In 2008 I worked with a Kenyan national I'll call G. She had met George Obama in Nairobi. On one occasion G and a few of her friends ate at a diner with Barack's half brother. G did not enjoy herself because she and the other women were expected to remain silent while their male friend discussed a myriad of topics with George Obama. That's the Kenyan way.
I did not ask G the question but she stated with no prompting whatsoever that George Obama is definitely a Muslim. She also said repeated some negative things about the Obamas' tribe that sounded racist to my ears. I won't repeat the stereotypes.
