Even The Associated Press Puts Down The Kool-Aid Funnel

Barack Obama might not have deserved his 2009 Nobel Peace Prize? Who could spew such racist hate speech? More verbiage from the basket of deplorables?

By some sobering measures, the case for Obama the peacemaker is difficult to make. Analysts who track conflict, refugee populations, terrorist attacks and political upheaval say the world has only become less peaceful during Obama's tenure, a trend that began just before he took office.
Instances of terrorism have peaked, deaths in battle around the world are at a 25-year high, and the number of refugees and displaced people has reached a level not seen in sixty years, according to the 2016 Global Peace Index, a report on international stability produced by the nonpartisan think-tank the Institute for Economic and Peace. The researchers attributed the trends to the expanded warfare in the Middle East and North Africa and broad ripples across the region and in Europe.

NY Post Headline: "Deleter Of The Free World"

The Hillary saga has a lot of facets and once more, it is hard to observe without feeling frustrated.

Let me go on record saying that I like Bill Clinton and to a lesser degree, I like Hillary. That is not to say that I would ever vote for either of them or that I approve of deleting evidence or obstructing justice or compromising national security but....Hillary, like the Tea Party, like True The Vote, like Herman Cain, like Sarah Palin, like Ted Cruz, is a victim of corrupt news media who have sworn their allegiance to Barack Hussein Obama.

Even if Obama were a good president (by any measure he is one of the worst, if not the very worst) or a good politician (Nope. He's had every deck stacked for him) or even if he did not display a fungal personality, Barry would still be resented as the recipient of grossly favorable treatment. Barry will always be the teacher's pet. The president is every bit as responsible for the email irregularities as is his secret(ary) of state as his appointee. The classroom smirks as Brilliant Barry is given yet another gold star for dutifully monitoring the news and that sassy pants Hillary is made to stand in the corner.

The Associated Press is filing a FOIA on Hillary's emails. Really? Why now, as opposed to shortly after the Benghazi massacre? Puzzles the mind. Did the AP file a FOIA on Lois Lerner's emails? I don't remember them doing so. I don't remember any dinosaur news agency filing a FOIA on anyone who had anything to do with this administration. The press has had a six year siesta through the Obama years.

The MSM are not defending Hillary. Pile on! Pack journalism is alive and well. There are a lot of ways to read this. Waking up...seeing the light...integrity reborn...But's it's the same ole same ole. Protect the pampered prince at any price.

99.99% of the press are either too enamored with or too intimidated by Barack Obama to ever report anything unfavorable (or as Brian Williams labeled it, "divisive") about The One. Their commitment has not wavered. If that means throwing Hillary under the bus, so be it. Yes They Can!

The Earliest Associated Press Coverage Of IRS Scandal?

This is believed to be the first Associated Press coverage of the IRS scandal. Dateline March 2, 2012. This was old news by the time AP touched the subject.

WASHINGTON • The Internal Revenue Service is embroiled in battles with Tea Party and other conservative groups who claim the government is purposely frustrating their attempts to gain tax-exempt status.
The fight features instances in which the IRS has asked for voluminous details about the groups' postings on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, information on donors and key members' relatives and copies of all literature they have distributed to their members, according to documents provided by some organizations.

The Associated Press Once More Carries Water For The Luckiest Man On Planet Earth

This blog has already reported on The Smartest Man In History referring to Charleston, Savannah and Jacksonville as gulf ports. Now, the Associated Press has been caught red handed rephrasing the Brainiac's statements to render them less laughable.

I don't know if anyone keeps score of the Associated Press's sneaky rewrites. I first became aware of their practice five years ago when they quoted Sarah Palin's infamous convention speech where she stated that she want to serve "this great country." The AP got the quote mostly right but of course they left the word 'great' on the cutting room floor. Subtle but profound.

Despite his spying on their employees, the AP is still blindly loyal to their Comrade-in-Chief. Has there ever been a luckier idiot than Barack Obama?

Don't Exhale Just Yet

In ordinary times, we could predict how scandal would affect elections for years to come. Richard Nixon was so repulsive that he turned red states blue and ushered in a class of "Watergate Babies" who would haunt Washington for decades to come. From Wikipedia.

That is how it used to work. Corruption disgusted the citizenry. Nixon and Agnew and Mitchell destroyed a lot of GOP careers. But that was long ago and far away.

The Democrats are ruled by an elite who sing from a different hymnal. They knew Barack Obama was a weak candidate in 2012. But if they could suppress the tea party vote, commit voter fraud in swing states, push the Benghazi investigation past November and get 90% of the media to assassinate Romney's character, they might just get their nag across the finish line ahead of the hobbled foe. A laundry list of activity, but that is what happened.

The DNC might have figured that eventually Benghazi, IRS abuse, APgate, etc., would surface. By that time, they would have scored victories in immigration, gun control and the sequester. When Obama failed to deliver on these things, his value had to be reconsidered. It was a matter of when, not if, the administration's dirty laundry was hung on the flag pole. Maybe it would be better to show all their cards now, three years before the next presidential election. Purge and move on to the next super star.

The power elite would love to control Congress but they have proven that they can rule and dominate without that quaint institution. They might not carry 2014 but they can hold the White House in 2016 if they play their cards right. There is something fishy about the sudden boatload of scandal and the press's instant withholding of affection. Maybe the centipede's other shoes will drop and the bad apples will be blamed and then it will be 2016. And then a new Jay Carney will remind us that the scandals of the past took place a long time ago.

Don't exhale just yet.

Notice How AP Buries The Missouri Rejection of Obamacare at the Bottom of The Article?

I don't like to cut and paste entire articles but AP has a habit of revising (and disappearing) content and I want to savor theis gotcha moment.

By LIZ SIDOTI, AP National Political Writer Liz Sidoti, Ap National Political Writer – 52 mins ago
WASHINGTON – Michigan voters fired seven-term Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick and chose political newcomer Rick Snyder as the Republican nominee in the race to succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm in a state severely battered by the economic downturn.

The two outcomes on Tuesday reflected the electorate's strong anti-establishment sentiment and intense desire for new faces just three months before midterm elections that will determine power in Congress.

Other outcomes in races in Missouri and Kansas had been expected in what otherwise has been a primary season filled with unanticipated results as tea party hopefuls shook up races and voters spurned candidates aligned with the political parties.

In Kansas, two-term Sen. Sam Brownback sailed to the GOP nomination in the gubernatorial race. Democrat Robin Carnahan — a member of a famed Missouri political family — and seven-term GOP Rep. Roy Blunt secured spots on the November ballot in that state's Senate race.

Another longtime politician — GOP Rep. Jerry Moran — narrowly topped fellow Republican Rep. Todd Tiahrt in the race for the party's Senate nod in Kansas and will face Democrat Lisa Johnston, a college administrator. Moran had the backing of Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., while Tiahrt had the support of Sarah Palin. Victory in the GOP primary was tantamount to a general election win as Kansas hasn't elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1932.

Kilpatrick was the sixth incumbent lawmaker to lose this year. Sens. Robert Bennett, R-Utah, and Arlen Specter, D-Pa., were ousted by their respective parties. Reps. Alan Mollohan, D-W.Va., Parker Griffith, R-Ala., and Bob Inglis, R-S.C., have failed in their primary bids.

State Sen. Hansen Clarke of Detroit beat Kilpatrick and, throughout the campaign, stressed the legal problems of her son, Kwame Kilpatrick, who resigned as Detroit mayor in 2008 after pleading guilty to obstruction of justice. Kilpatrick tried to overcome her son's legal woes by emphasizing her membership on the House Appropriations Committee and what she called her record of providing for the metropolitan Detroit district.

In the Michigan governor's race, Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero grabbed the Democratic nod by beating House Speaker Andy Dillon.

But Snyder automatically became the favorite in the economically ailing state. Michigan has the nation's second-highest unemployment rate — at 13.2 percent — and scores of foreclosures, and that has been a drag on Granholm, the Democratic governor who must leave office after two terms.

Snyder — who grabbed attention with ads promoting himself as "one tough nerd" — overcame Attorney General Mike Cox, Rep. Pete Hoekstra and two others. The former computer executive — he once served as president and chief operating officer of Gateway Inc. — spent $6 million of his own money through mid-July.

Snyder estimates that he's had a hand in helping create 400 Michigan jobs and 1,200 nationally. But he's been criticized for Gateway's decision to drop most of the 9,000 U.S. jobs added while Snyder was in management when it moved much of its manufacturing operations to other countries. He was still on Gateway's board when the change occurred, but wasn't involved in those decisions.

Dearborn resident Jim Kwilos said he voted for Snyder because he believes the former computer executive is the best candidate to turn Michigan around.

"He doesn't have the baggage of a traditional politician," said Kwilos, 54, a sales representative and Republican. "He comes from a different mindset, which I think is refreshing. It's about jobs and productivity and things he can do that will benefit everybody in the state."

In Kansas, Brownback easily won the GOP gubernatorial nomination over a single opponent and already was considered the front-runner for the general election. He is giving up a Senate seat he's held since 1997. A conservative favorite, he made a brief run for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination before dropping out.

State Sen. Tom Holland is unopposed for the Democratic nomination. They will square off to succeed Democratic Gov. Mark Parkinson, who was finishing out the remainder of Kathleen Sebelius' term. She left office last year to become President Barack Obama's Health and Human Services Secretary.

In Missouri, Carnahan, the daughter of a former governor and a former senator, easily defeated two challengers. Her Senate bid comes 10 years after the death of her father and one of her brothers. They died in an October 2000 plane crash while Mel Carnahan was campaigning for the Senate.

Robin Carnahan, the two-term secretary of state, will face Blunt, who has served in the House since 1996 and whose son is a former governor. He beat eight opponents for the GOP nomination, including tea party favorite state Sen. Chuck Purgason. Four-term Sen. Kit Bond is retiring.

Missouri also became the first state to test the popularity of Obama's health care overhaul law.

Voters strongly approved a new law that prohibits the government from requiring people to have health insurance or from penalizing them from paying for their own health care. That conflicts with a federal requirement that most people have health insurance or face penalties starting in 2014.

The legal effect is questionable, because federal laws generally supersede those in states. But its passage send a clear political message to Obama and the Democrats.

The Most Infuential Influence That Influences All Of Us.

If you ask people who has influenced their thinking more than anyone else, they would probably say their parents, Jesus, an inspirational teacher or favorite writer. I contend that knowingly or otherwise, the biggest influence on the way all of us think is the ubiquitous Associated Press. If you grew up reading newspapers or parroting people who read newspapers, you saw the world through the prism of The Associated Press. Even if you prefer the alternative viewpoint of say, the Murdoch papers, you are still mostly reading AP feeds. If you get your news directly from internet portals you also see the world through the tunnel vision of the Associated Press.

"The New York Times" has long been credited with setting the journalistic agenda in America. That is, the editors decide which stories are newsworthy and the journalistic comrades follow suit. But the case could easily be made that the AP is more influential in that respect. The Gray Ghost has lost all of her credibility, most of her readers and even some of her influence. Meanwhile, the Associated Press, not saddled with the ego and bombast and pretense of tweed coat dinosaur, has continued to do what they do best: They continue to wash brains.

With the usual disclaimers about how much I hate the liberal vs. conservative dichotomy and the chronic misuse of those terms, let me state that the Associated Press promotes a leftist/elitist agenda. They love Obama. They hate Palin, Tea Partiers, talk radio, lesser regulation and lower taxes. They know what is best for the unwashed masses and don't you forget it.

We can cheer the demise of TV news and fossilized newspapers and the rise of the blogosphere and Youtube Nation. But do not be fooled. As long as there is no alternative to the Associated Press, we will be stuck at the low end of a playing field that is more vertical than horizontal.

AP uber alles?
