This blog started in late 2008 to denounce the frightening religious devotion to Barack Obama. At the time I thought Obamamania would be a passing fad. I was wrong.
In the wake of a deadly VA scandal, the roll out of a new war on coal and a jihadists for deserter trade that would leave even leftist pundits scratching their heads, one would think that Barack Obama's numbers would plummet. His approval rating is 50% at Rasmussen.
We underestimate the cultist loyalty that surrounds Obama. I thought given his disastrous first term, a term that would that would make Jimmy Carter and Herbert Hoover look good by comparison and would qualify Obama as one of the two or three worst presidents in US History, the cultists might turn on their exalted leader. Wrong!
I thought that the Benghazi scandal might change a few minds. I thought the revelations of 2013, where Lois Lerner publicly confirmed that the IRS had been weaponized and might have tipped the scales in the 2012 election and that the NSA and the White House spied on both honest citizens and honest reporters, might be a tipping point. Wrong!
Never before have we seen a politician whose career has been defined entirely by scandal and ineptitude. Yes, he killed Bin Laden. Got anything else? Anything? Anything at all? It has been an endless parade of Solyndras and Fast and Furiouses and malfunctioning websites and absurd deficits. 50% approval.
Obots cannot and will not face facts. They don't have to and you can't make them! NaNaNaNa! They will defriend anyone who says something unfavorable about their deity. They will block the channel that maybe, just maybe, will criticize him. They will leave the room when someone says something not overtly worshipful about their leader. 50% approval! Unconditional love!
I have heard callers on radio shows suggest that the megalomaniac will extra-legally try for a third term. He will not give up power so easily. I have friends who have echoed this fear. That used to seem like irrational paranoia. No longer.
Barack Obama knows that he is infallible in the eyes of his followers. He is emboldened. 50% approval!
We are all in danger!

I don't know what's wrong with Rasmussen's methodology. His poll has become a consistent outlier. I hate to cite it when the numbers are to our favor as for example McConnell's 7 point lead over Grimes. The Real Clear Politics average of polls has Obama underwater by 9.2 points. At the opposite extreme of Rasmussen,Reuters/Ipsos has him underwater by 18.
