A Miss America in the Senate?

Maybe Kentucky Democrats watch too much Celebrity Apprentice. First they flirted with Ashley Judd now their attention has been turned toward Miss America. No, not just any celebrity will do so don't pin your hopes on Gary Busey. It must be a female celebrity and presently it looks as if Heather French Henry, Miss America of 2000 and wife of former Lieutenant Governor Steve Henry has the inside track. For a time it looked as if Secretary of State Alison Grimes would challenge Mitch McConnell but she has remained undecided maybe for too long.
I suppose the Miss Americas who aren't clever enough to work for Fox News go to Kentucky and become trophy wives. Governor John Y. Brown probably owes his election to his wife, Phyllis George a former Miss America and CBS sports reporter but George wasn't on the ticket and Brown didn't have the sleazy personal history as does the would be candidate's spouse, Steve Henry such as pleading to misdemeanor campaign finance violations, settling federal lawsuits for alleged Medicaid and Medicare fraud, and even being forced to reimburse the state for public resources used at his and Heather’s wedding.
For some reason national Democrats feel the must run a woman against McConnell and for some reason Kentucky women are reluctant to enter politics so the pickings are pretty slim. Women make up only 20% of the state senate and Grimes is the only woman to hold statewide office.
Supposedly McConnell is vulnerable because in 2008 he only pulled 53% of the vote against Bruce Lunceford who ran an exceptionally good campaign while John McCain pulled 57% against Obama. It will take more than a photogenic runway walker with a slimy husband to do in McConnell. Kentucky has been trending Republican red for 20 years and anything short of a major scandal on his part will not be enough to turn out Mitch McConnell.

Yes of course but it came out after his term. Most Kentuckians still don't know about his $400,000 after hours withdrawal from the NO fed.
