Washington Crude

As one of the candidates remarked in last week's Republican debate; " Whenever something good happens there's always a politician ready to take credit for it and when ever something goes wrong there is always a politician to blame someone for it." I wish my memory was good enough to credit that candidate because he hit the mark dead center. Last week President Blood and Guts Obama, to put it kindly, was taking credit for the death of Osama bin Laden. To put it unkindly he was exploiting the death of the late Mr. bin Laden. Then it was off to Texas to blame the Republicans in Congress for the immigration mess that has been his responsibility for the past two years.

Senate Democrats, who couldn't even get a peek of bin Laden's photo, nevertheless praised the courageous President for his guts and determination and pondered their own political opportunities. Not wanting to gloat over the underhanded passage of Obamacare and not really sure if they wanted to tout the virtues of the Dodd-Frank bill when it might blow up in their faces by making the big Wall Street banks uncompetitive in global finances they scoured the Drudge Report for news of any impending disaster they might exploit. Eureka! Gasoline prices were approaching $4. per gallon.

Immediately the CEO's of the 5 largest oil companies were summoned to a hearing to be scolded, scorned, and mau maued. Yes, it was time big oil paid its fair share. And what was its fair share? Unlike General Electric, the jolly giant of green energy who paid no US taxes these companies paid an effective tax rate of 47% in foreign and US taxes. The scam proposed legislation the kindly Senators have in mind is to not allow these 5 companies to take credit on taxes paid to foreign countries thus exposing these companies to double taxation who, unlike General Electric, friend of all good Democrats, repatriate every cent of their foreign earnings. Unlike General Electric, great friend of President Obama, they would gladly hire Americans to drill for and refine oil right in these United States instead of manufacturing windmills in the Philippines instead of Ohio.

Senator Chuck Schumer, whose largest coup-d'etat was the deliberate crashing of Indy bank in 2008 by pointing out its shaky balance sheet, oiled his way through the hearing and expressed outrage that Jim Mulva of Conoco Phillips had labeled the singling out of just 5 companies to bear the cost of double taxation as un American. About half way through the hearing I decided C-Span, although a godsend for greasy senators was a mixed blessing for its viewers and that Sen. Schumer was probably a child pornographer in an earlier life.

The Coming Crisis

YOU may talk o' gin an' beer

When you're quartered safe out 'ere,

An' you're sent to penny-fights an' Aldershot it;

But if it comes to slaughter

You will do your work on Viagra,

An' you'll lick the bloomin' boots of 'im that's got it

US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nancy Grace Susan Rice, has charged that Gaddafi troops have been issued Viagra. What next? Flowers and chocolates? According to diplomats who spoke off the record Ms Rice made this accusation in a closed door meeting at the United Nations but offered no proof. Another example of smart diplomacy ? Who, pray tell, advises this woman? Charlie Sheen? Gary Busey? She might have run this theory past the Joint Chiefs of Staff who would have told her no soldier wants to go into battle fully erect and Gaddafi probably didn't hire geriatric mercenaries. Yo, Susan, battle hardened troops face stiff opposition and Gaddafi vows to stick it out in Tripoli.

Our Truculent Candidate

Yes, the birther thing is a sideshow but I confess to enjoying it as much as the main event. Actually it has become the main event. It has as many clowns in as many rings as the main event does. So forgive us if some of us are enjoying the spectacle as we crunch on our peanuts.

In which ring should we focus our attention?

Should we focus on the Obama Campaign/Obama White House keeping this issue alive for over three years? And why did all the king's horses and all the king's men keep this alive as long as they did? I think it was so the pampered one could play the victim card but I am not sure.

Should we suggest that this might be a diversionary tactic to distrsct us from Ben Bernanke's fireside chat and our new embrace of inflation (and high oil prices?)

Did anyone else see Special Ed Schultz (I didn't think so) trying his best to pin the birther thing on the GOP? Throughout his hour, a graphic was displayed in the corner that showed the GOP logo and the label "Birther Party." MSNBC has been working overtime to blame the GOP. The fact remains: HILLARY'S PEOPLE STARTED IT AND HILLARY'S PEOPLE KEPT IT ALIVE!

The president once more appears petty. Why did he not release the birth certificate three years ago? Now it is a dstraction. Distracting from what? His appearance on Oprah? His fund raising? His campaign? Those silly distractions! Ooooooo!

Can we now vet Barack Obama? All along the Obama camp has kept the birth certificate controversy alive to distract us from examining other aspects of his life. Who financed his education? Did Michelle lie when she said he took out college loans (he did not disclose such information on his earlier election forms.) Did Obama ever take a class in economics? Did he take any classes in Marxist economics? Can he do basic arithmetic (If I owe 9 trillion and I run up another 6 trillion in debts, will I owe more or less? Can I just say "Yes We Can?")

I am still curious about those other records, especially the suspicious Social Security number.

MSNBC maintains its anger throughout the fiasco. I don't usually watch Schultz (I know. Who does?) but last night he got amzingly snippy with a woman I believe was another MSNBC employee (I could be wrong about that.)

But what is the lesson we are supposed to take away from all of this? According to MSNBC, it is racism. Surprise. Surprise. Surprise.

Let the sideshows continue!!!

Comrade-In-Chief

After advocating for higher oil prices and then doing all that he can to restrict the flow of oil (especially American oil) Fidel Obama is now siccing the Justice Dept. on, get this, speculators.

How many ways is this wrong? It's hard to count all the ways. It's wrong because it's deceptive. Obama and company are not on the level about anything. It's wrong because speculators should not be vilified. Contrary to the what the whores in the media might say, speculators contribute to society. Worse than villifying speculators, the Obama Media Complex scapegoats speculators. In their view, they are unconditionally vile but they are also conditionally vile. They are the culprits. Not precious Barack and his Merry Marxists. No, they are once more beyond reproach.

The timing is perfect. "Atlas Shrugged Part I" was released a week ago. I did not see this movie yet, but I read the book years ago. The novel perfectly encapsulates the dishonor and dishonesty or Barack Obama and people (excuse me, folks not people) of his ilk. Also, today is Good Friday. What good is Good Friday if we cannot acknwledge evil. Habitual liars are evil and this administration is habitually dishonest. Now they are scapegoating (and will probably persecute) honest, productive people in an elaborate political maneuver. "Yes We Can."

This is the least scrupulous administration in American History. We have a thug in the White House. We have media who beleive that facts do not matter. Spin is all that matters. The Kool Aiders are sucking their nectar and bowing down to the DC Gangsters. Happy Easter!

Media Tuesday: Discerning Media Bias

This is bias 101. If you ever want to know a reporter's bias, read the last paragraph of his article.

How The Daily Beast covers Donald Trump:

By the time he started dredging up Obama's Chicago past and his ties to Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko, some in the crowd started to get up to leave.

"This part is exactly what he said on Hannity's program," one fellow said to another as he made his way out of the park.

"He needs some new material," his friend agreed.

First of all, I don't buy the silly idea that ANYONE got up to lead when Trump brought up Obama's past. And I believe the conversation recreatd above is pure fiction. People have taken a liking to Trump because he has made game of Obama's sordid past. That is why the came to see Trump.

But it serves The Daily Beast to editorialize against the examination of Obama's past.

Here's the AP spinning a tale of woe.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110419/ap_on_bi_ge/us_statehouses_gop_wave

It starts with a chicken vs. egg confused headline.

Republican legislative gains tug nation to right

Ummm, wasn't it the other way around? The article then lists all the foolishness the 2010 election has wrought on our country. Legislators and legislatures are passing and repealing laws! Silly laws. Stupid laws. Foolish laws. But all is not lost. It ends on an optimistic note.

In Montana, Republican leaders are struggling to keep their eye on the big picture — cutting spending, developing natural resources — while the swollen GOP freshman class peppers the debate with calls to nullify federal laws, create an armed citizen's militia, legalize spear hunting, force FBI agents to get a sheriff's OK before arresting anyone, and more.

"Stop scaring our constituents and stop letting us look like buffoons," veteran Republican lawmaker Walt McNutt told the aggressive newcomers.

Gov. Brian Schweitzer, not one of the Democrats to roll over, came up with a cattle brand that reads "VETO" and seems itching to use it. "Ain't nobody in the history of Montana has had so many danged ornery critters," he said.

Reporters cannot conceal bias for long. If you want to know what they really think (and what they want you to think) read the last few sentences of the article. They reveal themselves every time.
