Frustrated by the lack of pertinent questions in the first two GOP debates, this blog posed 50 unasked questions on September 19, 2015.
To the credit of the GOP candidates, they have addressed the ISIS threat and matters involving national security. Not that there isn't more room for discussion on the subject but the matters have not been completely ignored.
The first ten questions from that original list have gone unasked. So on the eve of the FBN GOP Debate, we pose them once more.
1. Do you prefer a strong or weak dollar?
2. Do you support repealing Obamacare?
3. Do you support repealing Dodd-Frank?
4. Do you consider voter fraud a significant problem? If yes, what would your administration do to correct the problem?
5. Would your administration proceed with criminal investigations involving bureaucratic and/or DOJ abuses of power?
6. Would you allow American citizens to own/possess/use toilet tanks that provide sufficient water to flush in an effective manner?
7. Do you prefer freedom of choice in light bulbs?
8. Do you support the prosecution of body part brokers who procure their commodity in an illegal manner?
9. Would you allow American citizens to play poker on their computers?
10. Do you support prosecuting state and municipal officials who provide non-emergency aid to illegal immigrants? (1/13/16: Perhaps the better question is should we criminalize knowingly providing non-emergency aid to illegal immigrants.)

Ted Cruz Slaps Down Obama Butt Boy
CNBC once more parrots White House talking points. Cruz turns the tables and crushes the sleazy smirky whore.
Cruz is so right. This is why no one trusts the mainstream media.
This might be a turning point in the primaries.
AT LAST!!!

50 Unasked Questions From The GOP Debate
Governor Bush, you called Donald Trump a weasel but Senator Paul has called him a snake...Not an exact quote from Jake Tapper but you get the gist of it. A three hour food fight without much sustenance. More heat than light as they like to say.
Without trying very hard I came up with 50 questions that could have been asked. I could easily come up with 50 more but I have a birthday party to attend. This is a good start.

Two Words: Red Meat
Watching the second GOP debate and the post-debate analysis I have a slightly different perspective about who won and who lost. In a week or a month the candidates who rise in the polls will be the one who served the largest platter of red meat.
Trump is where he is not because of his sterling personality but because he entered the race handing out steaks and chops on immigration. He has allowed himself to drift away from that. He has gotten off-message. When was the last time he said anything about the subject that put him on top?
Carson never sounded so wonkish. Not one but two, that's right two, minimum wages! I got two can I get three? Can I get two and a half?
Christie gave us a 9/11 recollection and I believe it will help him stay afloat.
When we got past Rubio's bad water joke and his humble origins, he sounded Reaganesque.
Cruz also stayed on topic. So too, did Fiorina. They have a firm grip on their grill forks and spatulas.
Rand Paul fumbled the dumb ass Secret Service question. I like Rand but when the subject turns to the Middle East beef might be a better menu option than chicken.
Kasich, more than any other politician on stage, sounded like a politician.
Who won? The red meat candidates.

Brief Reflections On So-Called Debate
I could not watch The Fox Event live but I watched the rerun with a few interruptions.
As previously stated, the fine minds at this blog have already come up with a superior format. It's tough being ahead of one's time but let's put that aside for now. Yes, 10 is too many but it's in the history books now.
Quick observations:
1. As I suspected, Trump will reveal himself over time. Yes, he is plain spoken and disdainful of the political class but he is also pro-abortion, pro-nationalized health care, pro-tax, anti-dollar...If he can get other candidates to stop sounding like consultants he will have contributed greatly to the discourse.
2. I never thought I would use the words wise and Huckabee in the same sentence. The governor put aside the Aw Shucks routine to remind us how far our culture has fallen. There is some gravitas I have not seen before.
3. I hate to dismiss Ben Carson as an amateur. I genuinely respect the man and he seems to grow in stature. This year's Herman Cain? I don't think so. I liked Herman but Carson is on a different plane. If not a contender, certainly a viable VP nominee.
4. Cruz might be dismissed by the likes of Larry Sabato but I am not writing him off just yet.
5. I don't think Jeb Bush really wants the job.
6. If Rubio can ever get the Gang of 8 gum off his shoe he might be a contender.
7. As much as I respect Rand Paul he comes across as catty. I side with him ideologically but in the exchange with Chris Christie I found myself being taken in by Christie's presentation. In an argument between a lawyer and a doctor, the lawyer usually wins.
8. Kasich looked polished.
9. Was Walker on the stage? If I was a betting man I would bet on Walker to win this race but somehow he seemed to get lost in the crowd. I later saw a snippet where he gave a good answer but he was almost the Invisible Man last night.
