- Whereas I preach the gospel of semantics and I recognize that liberal is not a dirty word and conservative and liberal are not oppositional, and that conservatism is not a true ism, I am also wary of the ever-duplicitous Bill Kristol and his cruise ship comrades. Liberal democracy would respect the electoral outcomes and would not include efforts to nullify the will of the voter with impeachment or grand juries impaneled in the absence of direct or even circumstantial evidence. Why not rebrand as Democrat, Mr. Kristol?
