In this era, the medium is the message. Sometime a decade or two ago, the news media wrote themselves into the story. They wrote themselves into EVERY story. Every election, every issue is a battle between The Fourth Estate and the non-believers. American news media are not quite as vicious as ISIS but they are every bit as intolerant and every bit as ambitious.
