I still have a fairly good health insurance plan that I hope will not be cancelled anytime soon. Fortunately, I am in good health and rarely take advantage of my health insurance benefits.
Two years ago my gangrenous gall bladder was removed. From onset of symptoms to completion of surgery: 40 hours. Cost to me: $250. That is less than one per cent of the total bill. What a system!
I am afraid the best health care system humanity has ever seen is destined for extinction. But what a system it was. It might be fun to reflect on that someday.
