The Day After The Sky Fell

Remember the bloody days following the sequestration when America resorted to cannibalism and we all filtered water from our septic tanks to keep body and soul together? No one wants to talk about those days. One vast painful memory. Better to just forget about it.

Just as the prophets had warned us, the government shutdown would bring hardships innumerable. We awaken to the collective din of kitchen knives being sharpened. Today, it is the house pet on the dinner table. Tomorrow, it will be the slow-moving, well-fed neighbor. How many more, Mr. Speaker? How many more?
