Obama's War on Senior Americana
I have viewed countless videos since April but something has definitely changed in the last few weeks. The mood is more boisterous and the protestors are older. While the pollsters tell us that the biggest problem Obama faces is the statistic showing most Americans are insured and satisfied with their insurance why then the sudden interest by the elderly? Could it be that it's because Obama has promised to finance his grandiose scheme in part by cuts in Medicare and Medicaid ? Could it be that the citizens worry that after having paid into this program all their working lives that Obama will deem illegal aliens and ne'er-do-wells to be more deserving of federal largess. Could it be they think the mandated "end of life counseling" that they will be required to attend every five years is a gross intrusion into their privacy, patronizing, and idiotic? Could it be they are squeamish about turning control of their bank accounts over to federal paper shufflers.
After being labeled as nazi's, extremist, mobsters , shills for the insurance companies, storm troopers and yes, racists by their elected officials and a mal practicing media, accursed of carrying swastikas to town hall meeting by no less than the Speaker of the House of Representatives, roughed of by thugs from the Service Employees Union with the tacit approval of their post partisan president and told to report "fishy" emails and conversations to the White House they are even less trusting of this audacious plan to "reform" health care. But they have one huge chunk of consolation. Numerical superiority! There is not Congressional district in this country that does not have enough senior citizens to bounce the incumbent out on his ass. And it gets better every year for the next 10 or so years. The Democrats will probably take a hit in next years election but if this debate continues to polarize seniors as it has so far the consequences could be downright tragic for the Democrats.
When one ponders the ways this group, with just a little comunication and co-operation, could make life miserable for Obama it's astounding. Suppose all of them were to apply for a passport in the same week? Or just drop by their local emergency room and complain of chest pains. They could tell the Acorn certified census taker to go to hell and faced with the prospect of having to try 30 million people the government would probably fold or go further into bankruptcy. To paraphrase the the philosopher Eastwood "Mr. President did you ever notice you keep running into people you really shouldn't fuck with?"
