Can The Obama Administration Avoid Prosecution?

If the Obama Administration is not the most corrupt in US History, they certainly act like it. Their ongoing assault on transparency is in its own way, revealing. The biggest scandal in US history. the IRS abuse of power fiasco, has been swept under the rug by the Obama DOJ but there could be other Watergates as well. The Obama Administration has taken corporate welfare to a new high in sometimes suspicious tit for tat relationships. There is evidence that they have facilitated if not promoted widespread voter fraud. Storing classified secrets on a private server is in and of itself criminal and destroying them compounds the felony and you can't blame it all on Hillary if the White House knew what she was doing (and they did. It would be impossible to not know what she was up to.)

There are entire websites devoted to this administration's abuse of power and its ongoing corruption. For brevity's sake, we cannot rehash every possible criminal offense. We should remind ourselves that Barack Obama and his cohorts deceive with such frequency as to suggest that he and they might not be able to distinguish fantasy from fact. If 2017 were to arrive it would be greeted by a world that loved and embraced and adored Barack Obama so much that it would excuse his more trivial peccadillos. By now there must be at least one voice on the ship warning of the iceberg's approach.

For Jarrett and Company to avoid problems innumerable they have to continue the DOJ stonewall long after Barack Obama leaves the White House. How might they do that?

1. Insure that Hillary Clinton is elected and that she understands the terms of Mutually Assured Destruction.

2. Insure that a RINO is elected who wants to reach across aisles and build bridges and curry favor with the Beltway crowd.

Both of those methods involve a lot of IF's. Even if the preferred candidate is elected there must be ongoing trust and Jarrett et al are left in a state of vulnerability. "There but for the grace of Jeb" might not be something they like to remind themselves every morning for four years.

Given the unreliability of the two strategies, Valerie's Gallery might launch their own candidate. If they cannot get Elizabeth Warren they will settle for Joe Biden. We might be getting ahead of ourselves here but if Valerie judges Hillary to be either unelectable or unreliable, they might wreck her campaign early on. What better way to do that than with an indictment?

Monica Crowley addresses this possibility in her "Washington Times" column.

Mr. Obama needs a successor whom he can control to ensure that the “fundamental transformation of the nation” continues. He cannot control either of the Clintons. In a revealing “tell” this week, he said, “In 18 months, I’m turning over the keys. I want to make sure I’m turning over the keys to somebody who is serious about the serious problems that the country faces and the world faces.”

From the same column:

Don’t think Mr. Obama will go there? He already has. Last week, the New York Times reported that two inspectors general from his administration recommended that the Justice Department open a “criminal” inquiry into her handling of classified material. The leak to the Times came from a “senior administration official,” which some have speculated was Mr. Obama’s own consigliere, Valerie Jarrett. The Times walked back some of the details, but the damage was done. If Mr. Obama did not want a DOJ criminal investigation of Mrs. Clinton to go forward, he would not have let it go this far.

It is getting hot in Washington.
