The Perry Indictments: We Are Now Officially A Banana Republic

The Obama Police State is relentless. They used a loophole in Alaska ethics laws to force a middle class woman by the name of Sarah Palin out of office. With $500,000 in legal fees and a governor's salary, to say nothing of the time-consumption, Palin was forced to resign. Incidentally, Alaska law was reformed after her departure to prevent frivolous ethics charges.

Scott Walker is as clean as a whistle but the Obama Machine first used a recall and then a "John Doe" Investigation in an effort to unseat, intimidate, smear and destroy the governor's career.

Now 2016 Republican presidential front runner, Rick Perry, has been hit with bogus indictments originating from a Democratic-controlled county. This is naked politics pure and simple. The governor did not line his own pockets or do anything even slightly illegal. He vetoed a bill. That is his "crime."

While we lament the systemic corruption of the American judicial system, I will take the opportunity to say "I told you so" to Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and William Bennet and every other hypocrite who supported the Kenneth Starr investigation. I said there would be hell to pay for weaponizing the judicial branch for political expedience. Remember it was the Whitewater investigation that Mr. Peepers used as a pretext to examine the love life of the president. He used a financial investigation in ruin Monica Lewinsky and to humiliate the Clintons, all the while unlawfully leaking grand jury testimony.

The Perry indictments should prompt all good people, Democrats, Republicans and none of the above, to shout "Enough." Then again, the widespread abuses and destruction of evidence at the IRS should have prompted good people to action. Or The NSA abuses before that. Or the naming of a law-abiding reporter as a criminal to justify spying on his family. Or the obstruction of justice involving the Benghazi tragedy. Or the obstruction of justice involving the peddling of automatic weapons to Mexican criminal enterprises that resulted in over 160 deaths. Sadly, there just is not enough time or space to recount all of the Obama Administration malfeasance. The Perry indictments are just one more in a long list of abuses.

The Democrats are desperate to hold the Senate. With Eric Holder in power should we be surprised by October surprises? The Democrats are thugs, pure and simple. We have to acknowledge the obvious.

Hey! Riots work!

The comparison I would make to the Michael Brown shooting is the Duke lacrosse phony rape case. In both instances local law enforcement managed the news and in both cases once the stories went national their stories fell apart. The Michael Brown shooting is not complicated. There is no question who was shot and who did the shooting. Interview the witnesses and take the case to the grand jury. It's as simple as that. My bet is the Ferguson Police Department thought the case would just go away as many police killings do.
Chief Thomas Jackson reminds one a bit of Carroll O'Connor's Chief Bill Gillespie in the Heat of the Night television series. He's pleasant, soft spoken, and appears thoughtful but he has been making the defense case for Officer Darren Wilson by giving Wilson's account of the shooting and pawning it off as something that turned up in the investigation. Do not be surprised when he retires early citing some disability that he has endured for years that has suddenly become unbearable.
The simple fact is neither the Ferguson Police Department nor the St. Louis County Police Department has been eager to interview witnesses. As of Wednesday the police had not questioned Brown's friend Dorian Johnson even though his attorney had indicated he would make him available.
Freeman Bosley, Johnson’s attorney, told MSNBC that the police have yet to interview Johnson. Bosley said that he offered the police an opportunity to speak with Johnson, but they declined.
“They didn’t even want to talk to him,” said Bosley, a former mayor of St. Louis. “They don’t want the facts. What they want is to justify what happened … what they are trying to do now is justify what happened instead of trying to point out the wrong. Something is wrong here and that’s what it is.”
If one is to believe this morning's revelation that Brown was involved in a strong arm robbery of a convenience store Johnson should be in jail for his involvement but police don't want to talk to him. The report Jackson released today identifies Mr Brown, who is described as being 6ft 4in and 292 pounds, as one of the robbers.
It says he "grabbed a box of Swisher Sweet cigars" and handed them to a second suspect identified as Mr Brown's friend, Dorian Johnson.
Attention Chief Jackson: Dorian Johnson is that black kid with the dreadlocks frequently seen on television. You should be able to locate this felon without the help of America's Most Wanted.
It is the Ferguson Police Department and Sean Hannity who want to try this case in the media. The rest of the country would be more than happy to let a jury sort this out. Were it not for the rioting and the racial element of the case Officer Wilson wouldn't suffer so much as a reprimand. Police can shoot and kill white people with impunity. Lost in the media firestorm surrounding this case was this item from Dallas on August 11,
"The officer gave loud verbal commands, but the suspect refused to comply," a police statement said. "The suspect moved toward the officer in a manner perceived to be dangerous to the officer. The officer shot the suspect."
The victim was a 26 year old white male. He was shot three times in the chest and once in the arm.
When these case do get to court frequently the officer/shooter walks. Probably the prosecution gives less than its best effort. A grand jury failed to indict one Officer Jose Flores of the El Paso P. D. even after he was captured on surveillance video shooting to death a man in handcuffs. See the video here.
Not that long ago police were known to carry an unregistered gun to plant on shooting victims. Today that's usually unnecessary. The Michael Brown case is the exception. Maybe more people should riot.

Kessler Book Paints A Favorable Portrait Of The Obamas. Hillary, Biden, Not So Much

There’s no worse assignment for a Secret Service agent than protecting Hillary Clinton, if claims in a controversial new book are to be believed.
Ronald Kessler’s book, “First Family Detail,” is filled with salacious revelations about the secret personal lives of the nation’s most high-profile political leaders.
More feom ABC News/Yahoo. http://tinyurl.com/lvkx29n

This book has already been trashed by Media Matters for being anti-Clinton. That amounts to a ringing endorsement in some circles.

Jim Bohannon devoted an hour of his radio show interviewing Kessler. Joe Biden comes across as wacky, irresponsible and weird so the book is probably accurate. Kessler states that The VP likes to skinny dip in front of female agents. Worse, far worse, Biden sometimes abandons the nuclear briefcase so that he can travel light with two cars instead of fifteen and enhance his "Average Joe" image. Despite his common man affectations, he is not above using Air Force 2 for personal travel.

Richard Nixon won't ever leave our focus, so it seems. Kessler states that Bebe Rebozo was once turned away in a state of intoxication trying to deliver a naked stripper cuddling a bottle of champagne to a straight-laced president.

How Many White Rodney Kings Do We Never Hear About?

When the Rodney King story broke a younger, more naive version of this writer witnessed the videotape with shock and horror. I did not see a racial angle. I saw the LAPD caught in an act of sadistic barbarism. Kudos to whomever invented videotape. As time passed the media retold the brutality through the lens of racism. The implicit message was deafening. The Rodney King incident was tragic only because the perpetrators were white and the victim was black.

How many white Rodney Kings have escaped media scrutiny over the years? Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands? The answer the MSM will provide is "who cares?" If a news item cannot benefit the Barack Obamas at the expense of the George Bushes, there is no story. Hurricane Katrina coverage surpassed all hurricane coverage before and since because the media framed the story in the context of genocide. No politics, no story.

The slaying of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri is a tragedy and the ensuing cover-up is criminal. Hoosierman has been vigilant about posting police homicides at this blog. Truth is, we could probably post a white guy getting killed by white cops at least monthly, if not weekly. I am less focused on police homicides in the heartland because as brutal as they might be, they are not as threatening to the public welfare as the criminal hijacking of the DOJ, IRS, FEC, SEC, EPA, DHS and who knows what else?

Once more, the fourth estate is the story. They are pushing the principals offstage. Only so much limelight to hog. I briefly listened to NPR's "On Point" yesterday. Their angle is that Michael Brown was just one more victim of institutionalized white on black racism. I didn't stick around long enough to hear if they connected the dots to the Missouri rodeo clown or the resentment of a hate-consumed nation who cannot come to grips with Eric Holder and Barack Obama.

Sean Hannity is once more, Sean Hannity, He can put a stupid spin on anything. We should not jump to conclusions? Agree Sean, but as with the IRS Tyranny, an active cover-up does not equate with ignorance. And why did Al Sharpton go to Ferguson but not to Chicago? Maybe because the carnage in The Windy City is largely inflicted by civilians. Maybe because police homicide threaten the police obstruction of justice challenges the very premise of civilization. There is no shortage of stupid at Fox News.

Michael Brown's wrongful death is cheapened by the politicization of this event. The Left loves to talk about compassion but they only care about victims who can be used as political pawns. You can hear the mental gears grind. If this young man's murder can be spun into a George Bush/George Zimmerman/Tea Party/Rodeo Clown conspiracy and if it can be stretched out till November...maybe this innocent young man who the media never cared about can find significance in death. The boys and girls on the bus are licking their chops.

Items From My Mailbox: Canadian Top Ten List. Thanks, Bonnie

: Canadian Top 10 List

                    Canadian's Version of David Letterman's Top 10.

Just makes you wanna shake your head in disbelief.

This is Canada's Top Ten List of America's Stupidity

Of course we look like idiots .....because we are.

Number 10 Only in America could
politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000.00 per plate Obama
campaign fund-raising event.

Number 9 Only in America ....could
people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans
when they have a  black President, a black Attorney General and roughly 20%
of the federal workforce is black while only 14% of the population is black
40+% of all federal entitlements goes to black Americans - 3X the rate that
go to whites, 5X the rate that go to Hispanics!

                    Number 8  Only in America...could
they have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy
Geithner (former head of the Treasury Department) and Charles Rangel (who
once ran the Ways and Means Committee), BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who
are in favor of higher taxes.

Number 7 Only in America...can they
have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media
primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

                    Number 6 Only in America...would
they make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years
in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the
privilege, while they discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country
illegally just 'magically'  become American citizens (probably should be
number one).

                    NUMBER 5 Only in America....could
the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country's
Constitution be thought of as  EXTREMISTS.

Number 4 Only in America...could you
need to present a driver's license to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not
to vote.

                    Number 3  Only in America...could
people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging
the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity
invested in a major U.S. Oil company(Marathon Oil) is less than half of a
company making tennis shoes (Nike).

Number 2  Only in America... could
you collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded
history, still spend a Trillion dollars more than it has per year - for
total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn't have
nearly enough money.

And Number 1 Only in America...could
the rich people- who pay 86% of all income taxes - be accused of not paying
their "fair share" by people who don't pay any income taxes at all.

PLEASE DON'T KEEP THIS - SEND IT OUT
TO YOUR ENTIRE LIST.
