The Return Of Inflation: One More Un-Covered News Story

What DO the MSM report on? I don't watch CBS, NBC, ABC and I don't watch Fox very much as they add viewer-insulting shows like "The Five" and "Outnumbered." However, I am curious how the networks can fill a half hour broadcast while taking a vow of silence on a multitude of issues.

Lois Lerner vow of silence. Benghazi vow of silence. DOJ targeting the president's critic's vow of silence. Ongoing deficit vow of silence. On and on and on. Add inflation to the vows of silence.

Among this writer's myriad set of skills, we can add professional grocery shopper. He has worked as a small scale purchasing agent for a six bed medical unit and has in the past managed the finances of disabled people. The chunky broads in minivans have nothing over this dude. He has consistently underspent his two rival units by about $200/week as his unit had a higher census and a significantly higher client satisfaction rate for food and meals.

So, it is with a trained eye that I view the phenomenon of rising food prices. Besides killing Bin Laden, Obama has nothing favorable on his presidential resume. I am not saying that facetiously or snidely or in a partisan way. I am merely stating that it has been all bad news all the time during the Obama Administration. Every economic number--save perhaps the stock market which might be on borrowed time--has been unfavorable. To gas prices, total employment, GDP we can add food inflation.

I have noticed for months that food prices were rising. Pinpointing the start of inflation is kind of like isolating the time when I started receiving emails concerning the IRS harassment of Tea Party groups (I think they started in 2011.) Yet, the Consumer Price Index has not reflected inflation. When the news media do discuss economic issues they make bizarre statements like the concern for deflation shared by smart and real smart and super smart economists. Food price inflation? One more vow of silence.

Breitbart.com is not afraid of this subject. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/05/24/U-S-Food-Inflation-Running-at-22.  I have not heard of Chriss W. Street but he has food inflation pegged at 22%. Yipes. The administration wants to blame a drought in California. Street blames the Fed (as do I.)

A latter day Ted Turner could make a fortune just reporting some of the news the other outlets ignore. It's as if all the fishing fleets had decided to stay in dry dock for the better part of the decade. Who needs fish? Look at our boats, baby! Inflation is just one more big one that got away.
