Leave it to beaver

Is it just me or does the TSA really have a hard time getting good help? The latest fiasco involves an air marshal who was arrested for taking upskirt photos of female passengers. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and placed on administrative leave.
"TSA does not tolerate criminal behavior," the statement said. "The agency immediately removed this individual from his current duties and is in the process of suspending or terminating his employment. TSA continues to assist with the investigation."
It's remarkable that the TSA has to keep reminding the public that it does not tolerate criminal behavior. I'm afraid to ask why the marshal was taking photographs "beneath the dresses and or skirts of female passengers." TSA might say that where the beavers are.

I thought we were rid of Charlie Crist

Foremost in a long line of disappointing Republican governors Charlie Crist no longer embarrasses the party with his membership. If for no other reason, Marco Rubio should be remembered fondly for saving that Florida seat from this well tanned disaster. Crist has his eyes on his old job and while new to the Democratic Party recites its talking point quite well.
"You've seen the attacks against full-time working people and their healthcare, against women and their doctors, against teachers, public schools and college affordability, and even against the simple act of casting your vote,"

The scary thing is he leads Governor Rick Scott in the only poll taken so far.

Radical Alison Lundergan Grimes calls for delay of individual mandate

There are many Americans who have experienced technical problems through no fault of their own. Those Americans who wish to sign up should be given fair flexibility to do so. Extending the enrollment deadline and delaying the mandate until the website issues are resolved makes sense.
That intemperate, radical, bigoted statement comes from hostage taker Alison Lundergan Grimes the Kentucky Democrat who hopes to unseat Mitch McConnel.

Hostage Taker Grimes.
Grime's native Kentucky was touted as the Obamacare success story, boasting of 26,000 newly insured Kentuckians. Now it's revealed that a full 82% of those enrollees were dumped onto the Medicaid rolls leaving only 4832 insurance purchases. To be fair to Kentucky it's doing better than Oregon that scored almost 100%. It placed 56,000 on Medicaid while selling 23 policies.

Get over it Alison! It's the law of the land.

Forecast: More Fainting Women

I don't know the real mind control tactics. It could be microwaves to the brain, the broadcasting of ELF waves, Project Pegasus, Gray Aliens performing abductions as we sleep. The appeal of Barack Obama is so inexplicable that I am willing to entertain any explanation as to what makes this loser so appealing to so many.

The president is corrupt. He is tyrannical. His behavior is frequently criminal. He is an incompetent administrator and his personality would make sour milk taste like chocolate by comparison. Oh, but they love him.

Obama's Rasmussen approval rating is back to 52 % following his rescue of a woozy and weary pregnant woman. Why does Obama plant fainting women in his midst? Bullshit rules the day.

Is the embracing of bullshit a passing fad or a permanent change in the American character? The cynic in me is betting on the latter. In the words of Colonel Nathan R. Jessup, "You can't handle the truth!"

I see Kool-Aid and fainting women in our future.

A Must Read From David Horowitz: The Threat We Face

I was born at the beginning of the Second World War into a family of high school teachers who were members of the Communist Party, and therefore were actually part of a vast conspiracy dedicated to the destruction of this country, although they would never have looked at it that way, and so-called liberals would be the first to deny it.
In those days, the schools were old fashioned enough that my parents did not use their classrooms to indoctrinate students as tens of thousands of university professors and even more K-12 teachers regularly do today. It is also an unhappy but hugely important fact that the conspiracy to which my parents belonged has steadily migrated into the heart of the Democratic Party until it now occupies the Oval Office in the person of our president, Barack Obama, and his closest advisors.

Variations On A Theme

HE HAS MAGICAL HEALING POWERS!

The White House Fainting Lady Hoax

Fainting women seem to be a favorite Obama prop. Lady Patriot examines the fabulous fainting lady from several angles and deduces that she is a fraud.

What's that blond's name on Morning Joe?

I just realized that Joe Scarborough is more arrogant that Bill O'Reilly and that's something I never thought possible. I love this clip as Scarborough walks over Mika's lines, cuts her off, and shows just how condescending and dismissive he can be. This looks like Archie and Edith.

Inspector General Warned of Troubles for healthcare.gov

We were warned healthcare.gov was in trouble. From a Reuters post written on August 6. Security concerns have lessened as it become obvious most people never get a chance to enter confidential information.

The missed deadlines have pushed the government's decision on whether information technology security is up to snuff to exactly one day before that crucial date, the Department of Health and Human Services' inspector general said in a report.
As a result, experts say, the exchanges might open with security flaws or, possibly but less likely, be delayed.
"They've removed their margin for error," said Deven McGraw, director of the health privacy project at the non-profit Center for Democracy & Technology. "There is huge pressure to get (the exchanges) up and running on time, but if there is a security incident they are done. It would be a complete disaster from a PR viewpoint."
The most likely serious security breach would be identity theft, in which a hacker steals the social security numbers and other information people provide when signing up for insurance.
The inspector general's report, released without fanfare last Friday, found that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or CMS - the agency within HHS that is running Obamacare - had set a May 13 deadline for its contractor to deliver a plan to test the security of the crucial information technology component.
A test was to have been performed between June 3 and 7. But the delivery deadline slipped and the test - assessing firewalls and other security elements - is now set for this week and next.
"CMS," concludes the inspector general's report, "is working with very tight deadlines."
The delays mean that the ruling by CMS's chief information officer certifying the Obamacare IT system as secure will be pushed back from September 4 to September 30, a day before enrollment under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the law that established Obamacare, is supposed to start.
"Several critical tasks remain to be completed in a short period of time," the report concluded.
I like the last line.

CGI Federal wins Youth Defender Award

CGI Federal, the American subsidiary of the Canadian firm behind healthcare.gov’s deployment, has been awarded the first ever Youth Defender Award for its efforts to crash Obamacare. The award was given by Generation Opportunity which thanks GGI for doing more than anyone to date to save young people. Generation Opportunity is responsible for the Uncle Sam in the gynecological exam room video. The little known group which keeps its donor list private is supposedly made up of young, libertarian thinking, college grads. Critics on the left insist it's funded by the Koch brothers as they do every group that opposes the status quo in Washington. They do have a youthful staff.

Will We Get Updates On Obamacare Like During Disasters?

I'm sure Mara Liasson didn't mean to imply Obamacare was a disaster; it just came out that way.

Ibragim Todashev has been dead 5 months. Can you say cover up?

It has been 5 months since the murder of Ibragim Todashev and the country is still awaiting an explanation. No, it was not a lawful use of force and the FBI has had 5 months to make that case. All we have is silence. If we are to believe the FBI, they allowed Todashev to keep his samurai sword, or maybe it was a stick, during questioning and after several hours of questioning he became restive and they had to shoot him 7 times including a shot through the crown of his head.
By the FBI's own account, there were maybe as many as 10 law enforcement officers in the small apartment, consisting of FBI, Massachusetts State Police, and Florida local police personnel. It is undeniable that this cover up goes to the top of the Justice Department. The new FBI Director, James Comey apparently has no inclination to uphold the oath office he took just last month. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi who moved heaven and earth to get a rigged trial for George Zimmerman and who has clear jurisdiction to act seems content to aid and abet the cover up of what can only be described as cold blooded murder. The FBI will not allow the Florida medical examination to release the autopsy report under the inane pretense that there is an ongoing investigation. There is not. Whatever investigation there had been has ended an supposedly the events are being reviewed by unnamed others. How about a grand jury to do the reviewing?

New Hampshire's Obamacare shill

Deborah H. has a great story. Thanks to Obamacare she will save hundreds per month and because she has a pre-existing condition she cannot be turned down. The trouble is the insurance company must sell several policies to healthy, young, people who neither want them at exchange prices or need them to offset the losses from her policy. But Deborah is special. To date she is the only confirmed Obamacare enrollee from New Hampshire.

I wonder if she can faint on command.

I Hate Google

Google owns Youtube. Google supports Obama and the NSA's domestic surveillance.

I believe but cannot prove that Google buries anti-Obama videos. Searches don't turn up certain videos. Popular videos have low viewer counts. Then, frustratingly, they disappear. Maybe it is all as innocent as the Duke of Duplicity's fainting women. Maybe.

I tried to repost a summary of Obama's fainting women and guess what? Silly me.  I must have misremembered the existence of such a video.

Like video rodents who pop up only to be hammered down unflattering Obama videos sometimes make a comeback. Hope the following does not get scrubbed by Googlebama.

YET ANOTHER FAINTING WOMAN COMPILATION

Obama Uses The Tried And True Fainting Woman Play One More Time.

I don't care how much money you have or how many accomplishments you have notched up, or how wonderfully you have spent your life, if you fell for the bullshit of the cheesiest cult leader in the history of Planet Earth, you are a loser. Obama has been using the fainting woman trick since 2007. It helped deify the Chosen One. This tactic has worked well with stupid people and we will probably see it again in the future.

AT LEAST SHE IS NOT ANONYMOUS THIS TIME Here is a repost from March 17, 2012 that summarizes the ongoing deception of The Duke of Duplicity. By the way, this is Huffington Post now calling this campaign phenomenon to our attention. Read it before it gets scrubbed!

...If Obama seemed calm during the situation, it's because this was the third time this month that someone has passed out at one of his campaign events. Obama interrupted his own event at a Daimler plant in Mt. Holly, N.C. last week when a woman standing toward the front of the audience passed out...

RFK Stole JFK's Brain

I have to say I didn't see this one coming. According to a new book by James Swanson “End of Days: The Assassination of John F. Kennedy,” Bobby Kennedy stole the brain of his late brother. 'In October 1966, it was discovered that the brain, the tissue slides and other autopsy materials were missing — and they have never been seen since,'
When I returned Mary Jo and the brain were gone?

After the brain went missing Attorney General Ramsey Clark, who knew what it was like to miss a brain, initiated an investigation that led to none other than Robert F. Kennedy. The author speculates that Bobby did not want the country to know how ill his brother was or maybe how much medication he was taking. More.

If Ken Cuccinnelli Loses, Will Ann Coulter Step Up And Accept Responsibility For His Loss?

I can't let the Libertarian and Tea Party situation go just yet. When people refer to the Republican establishment they usually refer to Reince Preibus or Karl Rove or the Bush Family, John Sununu and people of that ilk. Remember though, that there is a GOP Fifth Estate who subscribe to a scorched Earth, 'those who are not for us are against us' approach to matters political. Ann Coulter is the Miss Congeniality of this personity.

A gauge of how far the GOP has drifted into a pro-bureaucracy, pro-statist, pro-Beltway current is enrollment in and support of Libertarian Party candidates. The LP peaked in the late 1970's. They were destroyed by the quasi-libertarian rhetoric of Ronald Reagan. Unfortunately, Reagan's actions would not harmonize with his rhetoric but from a purely political perspective, Reagan was successful.

In 2013, the LP has hit a new high water mark. The Virginia LP gubernatorial candidate is polling at 9-13 per cent. You can credit Bush and McCain and Romney for these numbers. You can tip your hat to the consultants too but let's not forget to give a shout out to the Ann Coulters of the world.

For as long as there has been libertarianism, a Libertarian Party and libertarian candidates we have had highly paid media hacks who dismiss their social inferiors with a roll of the eyes and a "Do you still peddle heroin to children?" sort of question. Not just the CBS/ABC/NBC shills but Fox and Hannity and Limbaugh as well. Being that the lead question is always the same, when Coulter is given a chance to field the subject she wags her finger at her audience for their lack of priorities.

Coulter says that this audience wants to discuss drug legalization because they want to "suck up" to liberals. That presupposes the leftist support of drug legalization. The political class views drug prohibition as just one more vehicle to line the pockets of political contributors.

In fairness to "the mob" Coulter calls them a foul name and then is indignant when she gets booed. Come on, Ann. This is a long way from getting shouted down by a bunch of Occupants. This group politely lets you make your point, whatever that point was supposed to be.

As previously mentioned, Coulter was on "The Howie Carr Show" blaming Cuccinnelli's woes on the Libertarians. Howie chimed in by the way, blaming the corrupt John Tierney's re-election on the Massachusetts Libertarian Party. Howie too, is snide when addressing libertarians. Rudeness to libertarian types is de rigueur in the Conservative Media Club.

Ann, you can probably get more voters with honey than with feces but who am I to advise someone of your stature? Not everyone finds your middle finger so endearing. Unfortunately, you might have inflicted collateral damage. If Terry McAuliffe wins the governorship, I do hope he invites you to his inauguration. I hope Bill and Hillary give you deep, wet kisses. You deserve it.

CAN WE ATTRIBUTE YOUR ELOQUENCE TO YOUR SCHOLARSHIP AT CORNELL?

Looking Back at Bluegrass

If the quality of the video this old is surprising it's because it was filmed by a professional documentary producer, David Hoffman. It was shot in 1964 just after Lyndon Johnson had declared his war on poverty and very little was known about Appalachia. Hoffman went on to produce 88 prime time documentaries for PBS.

One would think this dance was rehearsed and produced by somebody such as June Taylor but Hoffman explains that this is just a "roll back the rugs" dance in someone's home. He was so awestruck he tried to dance with the camera. The irony of Johnson's war on poverty was it targeted the most self reliant segment of the country"s population. They didn't take the bait and showed their gratitude for Johnson's solicitude by becoming Republican voters and VISTA was forced to shift its attention to impoverishing urban America where it found a ready supply of welfare clients. Looking at the dancers does not conjure up images of poverty. Sure they were wearing the best clothes because they knew they were going to a dance and may have known it would be filmed but these were not poor people. Using criteria such as availability of electricity and running water and per capita income are poor indicators of poverty when the population has spent 200 years learning to get along without them.
Bluegrass, like jazz, still demands instrumental virtuosity. It is it the folk music of the Scotch-Irish who populate Appalachia. The term Bluegrass is recent and was popularized by Bill Monroe who never lived in Appalachia but learned the music from his uncle. Monroe was born and raised in Western Kentucky, in Rosine, not far from Owensboro where they actually have blue grass but few Scotch-Irish. He was first to discover this young man in the video below. Monroe owned a minor league baseball team and hired a pitcher from Eastern Kentucky, Dave Akeman. Later he learned the pitcher could also play a banjo so he nicknamed him Stringbean and moved him to the band. As luck would have it, Monroe also happened upon Earl Scruggs who popularized his technique of banjo picking as opposed to flailing or strumming.

Before the Hoffman documentary a few examples of bluegrass had begun to appear on local television in towns such as Wheeling, West Virginia and Roanoke, Virginia. Don Reno and Red Smiley even had a well known sponsor, Kroger. Prior to that it existed on the AM radio band. The Carter Family, although never billed as bluegrass was one of its best acts. Wildwood Flower was an old song long before Maybelle Carter discovered it. Notice the "claw hammer" guitar  technique the family uses.

I would guess that there is a zero percent probability that Bluegrass will ever become as popular as country music for the simple reason that the performers are not interested in modifying their music to conform to popular tastes. They play by their own rules. No amplifiers, no drums, everything is acoustical and vocals are okay but merely an embellishment. I suppose it parallels with jazz in that the idea is to make music not money. Yes, a few do become wealthy but scores of little known groups travel from festival to festival in fifth wheel campers, performing and selling their cd's. I have been assured by someone who plays country music that very few country musicians could make it in Bluegrass. Vince Gill and Marty Stuart could but the list ends about there. I'll close with a video of Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, a group so demanding you apparently have to marry into it. Two of Vincent's musicians are son-in-laws.

Will The Circle Be Unbroken
