Parting Shot On George Zimmerman

The Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case leaves a bad taste in my mouth. An unarmed minor was killed. He did not deserve to die. But he is dead. The story went from tragedy to travesty right away.

Every news story now involves the media as a lead character. It was not always that way but it is that way now. NBC shamelessly doctored audio to smear George Zimmerman (An isolated incident? I doubt it.) The New York Times labeled Zimmerman a "white Hispanic" because it fit the prefabricated narrative. Every news outlet used a picture of Trayvon Martin that was, if memory serves me correctly, four years old. Once again, facts would play second fiddle to agenda.

A lynch mob was formed. Barack Obama, in his typical gutless fashion, jumped into the case without jumping into the case. You can say that he lead from behind. Eric Holder and the FBI investigated Zimmerman in hopes of painting him as a racist. Trayvon Martin's life was shamelessly exploited for political gain.

The Dems used Trayvon as a political pawn. The Florida GOP tried to head off the gambit. They sent their own people to muscle the local yokels out of the way. Let the record show that the Republicans were every bit as opportunistic as their arch rivals in assuring that the crisis would not be wasted.

At long last the revenge of the Duke Lacrosse accusers was underway. Prosecutorial misconduct would eclipse the facts at hand. Even with a sympathetic judge the prosecutors were unable to form a case against George Zimmerman. Facts can be stubborn and speculation can be flimsy. No case was presented against George Zimmerman and he was rightly acquitted.

The media would assert themselves into the story immediately after the verdict. The usual suspects exploited Trayvon Martin's memory for fun and profit. The word shameless used to mean something. People lacking the capacity for shame were viewed with suspicion. It is par for the course for Holder and Obama.

First the attorney general would jump into the limelight. He made sure his name would be listed when the credits rolled. In a sickening display of oneupmanship the Narcissist-In-Chief would make it all about himself. The most privileged man on Planet Earth tried really, really, really hard to establish his own discrimination street cred. Barack Hussein Obama is incapable of embarrassment but his theatrics were embarrassing for all of humanity. The first post-shame president in all of his skill and cunning.

The news media milked this story for its last drop of interest. They staged astroturf protests across the country that were not well-attended or well-received. They screamed for the blood of George Zimmerman. Ultimately, the privileged news media succeeded in pushing Trayvon and George offstage. This was always about Al Sharpton and Nancy Grace and Don Lemon and their ratings. They won. We watched. Case closed.
