This was originally posted December 8, 2011. There was a time when this sort of antic would disqualify a person from public office. In 2008 it was met with indifference and at times, admiration. He's so clever!
In fairness, the fainting lady never came forward. We don't have indisputable proof that the candidate in question staged these shenanigans but we know that the fainting stopped once the blogosphere examined this subject.
While this side show has many disturbing facets (Extreme dishonesty, media indifference, voter indifference, voter gullibility to name a few) it is a harbinger of the most deceptive and least transparent administration since Nixon took up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Actually when all is said and done, Nixon might look honest by comparison.
